Very good TV for what your looking for

The picture quality of the Vizio E Series LED TV is really impressive, considering its low price. It isn't perfect, though. The gray uniformity is below average ...

          $1249 for a 49" LG 4K set with 7" tablet and soundbar.

Black Friday must be right around the corner, though I'd probably wait til next year to pull the trigger on a 4K set.

Any recommendations on a new receiver? Currently have an Onkyo HT-3400 but with Polk TSx front speakers & Polk PSW 12" sub hooked up with a 60" Samsung

What don't you like about your current AVR? What features are you looking for and what is your budget?

Does your Onkyo have pre-outs? If so, maybe look into a good amplifier instead of an AVR. Peachtree, Rotel, Marantz all have pretty good amps for a decent price. My guess is your towers are 200-300 watts. There isn't an AVR that will fully power that amount of wattage.

I saw this article on Digital Trends today - http://www.digitaltrends.com/home-th...bb50-396662941

Their opinion on the top receivers under $500.

Only problem for me with these is they care as much about design, features, HDMI inputs, etc. as they do power and sound quality, so it's hard to truly tell. Like, don't have Zone 2, BT support, iPhone pairing, etc? Oh, we'll knock you down.

My aunt has a Samsung LED (I don't know model #) that she bought about 3 years ago. The other day a black line appeared across the top, then not long after the entire screen went black. They can still get sound. When there is a problem is this a common one. Could it be an HDMI port or physical cable issue?

That doesn't sound good. It probably isn't the cable because you're still getting sound because sound and video travel together through a HDMI cable. With an HDMI connection you either get a full signal or no signal at all (including no sound) because it's a digital signal.

It could be the panel itself crapping out or a circuitry issue. Either one of those will probably run a few hundred in repairs. I guess it all depends how big it is and how much they originally paid for it as to whether it would be even worth fixing or better off just buying a new TV. You can get a pretty good new LED TV these days for only several hundred more of what a typical repair will cost you.

You can try unplugging the TV from the outlet and from the cable box and plugging it back in and use a different HDMI cable but i would be suprised if that did anything.

Just bought a used 46" Samsung 3D Smart LED TV 7000 series. It is currenlty in an outside storage and not in a box, only has bubble wrap covering it.
I was wondering if it's OK to leave it in the storage where it can get very cold for an extended period of time? It will be in the storage for at least 3 more months, or should I take it out and store it on the inside at room temperature?

                            Thanks

If you can get it in room temp I would go that route

I think I would bring it on inside. The moisture in the air could do some damage pretty quickly. Could you take it off the stand and slide it under a bed?

I am about to face the same issue with an old record player.
