Scott - Am I right in assuming that the C61K would be another monthly charge right?
They're just gonna swap out 1 of my other genies. So i'll be paying an additional $7, I believe.

Ok, well I'm a bit confused because I asked if I would be charged if I just used the DirecTV Ready (RVU) instead of a box if I'd still have to pay $7 and the rep just told me no but on the DirecTV website it says you have to pay $7 for each device connected to watch tv, including a DirecTV ready TV.

So if I can save $7 a month I'd try using the DirecTV ready function of my TV but if I'm going to have to pay for it I might as well get the C61K hardware box I suppose.

I wonder when Optimum will start their 4k stuff. Looks like directv is doing everything they can to entice people to join them. Had them in the past and I wasn't too crazy about them. I'm sure they've gotten better. Plus I like having my internet and cable on the same bill.

I got mine installed now, even though I'm not a golf fan, I'll be checking out some of the Pebble Beach Tournament in 4K.

Sorry for the bad picture quality guys, but just wanted to give you an idea of it. The 4K picture quality on DTV plus my Sony X930D actually make golf interesting to watch lol.

Such nice weather to display vibrant colors of a golf course, lol. If The Masters is in 4K definitely check that out.

Any way to get 4k stations with Comcast? I just moved out just under 2 months ago and I would like to get 4k but I don't know a lot about tech and I cant afforded to pay to much has I don't have a great job and working less with school. Right now I pay about 122 a month for internet and TV may have to down grade a packaged after the first year has the packaged would normally cost like 162. I don't want to because next packaged down I wouldn't get NBA TV and NFL network. I mostly watch sports so being able to watch NBA games on TNT and like ESPN and watching sharks hockey and NFL during NFL season is the main thing and yes I can still do that with out NFL network and NBA TV but not has many games.

What made you decide to get the Sony X930D over the Samsung KS8000?

Just curious because I'm interested in the Sony as well but talked to a couple of guys at Best Buy and neither said they could think of a reason to go with the Sony for $600 more over the Samsung.

Better Black levels, better motion clarity, better 4K processor, better OS. The 930D is a better overall set than the 8000. 8000 gives you better brightness and better brightness.

ok, that's cool, well unless I see a sale on it though I'll probably be stuck with getting the KS8000 as I originally started on my 4K journey saving for an H8C if any of you guys recall, but the wife encouraged me to get the KS8000 saying the picture was so much better and etc...LOL..

Doubt she'd much care for me going that much over in regards to spending either LOL. But the reality is I'm tired of waiting and another $600-700 means more waiting!

So let me ask you all this - is there any real advantage or disadvantage to getting a curved TV?

The curve is only going to be good if you're in the center of it at all times. If you (or other people) are viewing from the side, their experience isn't going to be as good. I'd recommend against the curve.

It's a DirecTV ready TV which I assume it has some kind of guide built in that works well with DirecTV.
