Any idea why manufactures have decided to go with dual legs? If one base can support my 65" plasma I think they can handle it with these featherweight LEDs. If the actual support is actually needed can't they just be like 18" apart instead of 3'?

No and no. It's primarily for just casual basic cable TV watching followed by video games followed by Netflix in 4K then movies in 4K. I don't watch too many movies and with cable not able to reach 4K standards, I don't need anything too crazy but enough for my occasional video gaming and to make buying the Xbox One X worth it.

I'm willing to do 55" or 65", bigger would be better but more than 65" is probably more than I'm willing to pay.

Finally got some closure on my tv issue. The part finally came in so the repair guy who happened to live like 10 mins away said he could come right then, so he managed to fix it easily. I figured that's the issue, but didn't wanna touch anything myself since the wires inside looked real skinny and easy to damage.

One thing I saw is that he used some special universal remote that could access service menu of the tv and basically change settings from within like the model and serial number. Anyone know anything about remotes like that, or if there's anything worth checking out on the service menu?

And now that I got it fixed, what are recommended settings people think I should put on it to both look good and not ruin the tv in long term. I had it on vivid(which turns out was bad for the tv, despite it looking good) , and the guy basically just reset everything to factory settings, first starting with the picture. So now I'm basically starting out from scratch on the tv for first time since I bought it years back.

Not sure about how it goes from brand to brand, but you can generally enter the service menu by entering a certain code on your normal remote. Not sure there is anything in the service menu worth changing. Not sure what options are all there, but I'd imagine they'd only be useful for a professional ISF calibration, and you can brick you TV if you don't know what you're doing.

I'd just google "[your tv model] calibration settings" and then work from there on what you think looks best

Can anyone tell me why I have these 2 lines at the top of my new TV? They weren't there yesterday. I have only had this TV a few months. Samsung KS8000.

Is it "underscanning" that particular source? Change the aspect ratio to something more zoomed and see if they still appear.

If not, it might have to do with the screen not being wedged right with the panel. It is edge-lit after all, so I assume that effect is possible to see if something like that happened.

How would I get rid of it or is it something I would need to return it for?

Both parts are just speculation. If it's the first thing I mentioned, that's not an issue on the display, more so the source. Just trying to narrow down the possibilities of what it is. Did you try that first thing yet?

The second one would require some sort of repair, perhaps just tech removing the front panel and doing adjustments.

I don't really know what it is though. Maybe it's an issue with pixelation, though it's an LCD so I don't really think that's the problem either. I have no idea to be honest, but look into the first thing I mentioned before anything else.

I changed the screen size and it is still there. Even there when I change the source to something other than gaming. Turned TV off and on again and also unplugged HDMI cable and plugged in again.

Then it probably has something to do with the edge-lit nature of the set. I would contact Samsung somehow, describe the situation and see if you're still under warranty for a panel repair/replacement.

I'm going to ask AVS set owners if they have seen that before.

I feel like thats his signal feed and not his TV. But maybe you guys eliminated that possibility already.
