Separate consoles. We just utilize the game sharing method.

Been enjoying my C9 so far, but my only complaint is the ABL on these OLEDs. One minute the tv is bright and looks great the next minute the image looks dark. It’s a bit annoying to be honest. This only happens with HDR content.

I am SOOOOOO glad I held off on buying a TV. That LG 48CX is a definite buy for me.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

So after going through the TVs settings I realized what was constantly triggering the ABL. I had the “Logo Luminance Adjustment” set on high. I put it back to low which is default and the ABL is no longer kicking in.

Does that completely eliminate it though or is it just somewhat better? I have the E8 and I tried everything possible, including this I believe. The only games it affected in HDR mode were Madden 20 and The Show 19, and for some reason, NBA 2k20 this year.

When playing night games, the ABL was all over the damn place dimming and brightening up and it was terrible. 2k20 was dim as well.

Curious to hear your thoughts. One of the best TV's i've owned(have the C7 and E8) but the ABL just drove me insane

Yea it helped a little, but like you I notice it most with mlb the show. I haven’t tried it with 2k yet and madden 20 seemed ok. When I had it set to high it was bad. I felt it was getting dim then bright then back to dim too much. It’s a little better now with the setting on low which is the default. You can also disable the feature completely but I’m afraid of a way too bright picture might cause some burn in so I leave it alone. Are you playing madden and 2k on the PS4 as well? I want to check something out.

I tried everything. Those games on Xbox One X and PS4 just do it. I suppose they aren't optimized well? Red Dead 2 or any other game look great. 2K19 looked fine last year, but this year something happened.

Even disabled it and/or the ASBL or whatever its called with the remote. Nothing I did worked. Ended up buying Q90R which eliminated it completely, so the E8 is just used for movies/tv at the moment.

ABL is the reason I am not sure why anybody recommends OLED for gaming.

It is awful as you can literally see the screen dim when it goes to a bright scene. It also happens in SDR FYI

I was watching ESPN first take and it dimmed big time right before my eyes.

I cant wait for Micro LED

ABL is not tied to the logo setting. It is tied to how a bright scene is displayed in full checkerboard.

The C9 has worst ABL then the cheaper B9

Have $450K for The Wall? Go for it. Think MicroLED is gonna be affordable for everyone, think again. Will be at least $10-40K.
