LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I’ve had my OLED for about 3 years now and I’ll never get another one again. The burn in is too prevalent and too easy for it to happen. Maybe newer ones are better but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I agree with Scott. Just for starters, COVID has limited the inventory of practically everything, and when there's a shortage, simple economics say prices are likely to be higher. And specifically for OLED TVs, even last year's models haven't really gone down in price over a year after release.

It'll be below $3700 because ABT already has it at $3696, but it wont get to $3K. Probably $3400-$3599.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Thats the same exact one I'll be getting it I went to the local best buy and priced it over the weekend it was $4000. I did see it a few weeks back at costco for $3,750After several months of research, I've made up my mind up to go with the 77" LG CX. It's a little too expensive for me now, but I'm hoping it goes down to $3K either on Prime Day or Black Friday. In the photo below, I've measured the 77" compare to my 55".

Any decent sound bar recommendations that aren’t too pricey that are really good.

I’ve had my B7 in the bedroom for years and the C9 in the living room since last year and I have 2 young boys who play Xbox and ps4 on it all the time, watch YouTube all day and I use it as well and never any issues. I don’t believe this is something to worry about especially with the newer ones.

Depends on your definition of pricey, I would ultimately recommend getting a passive sound bar with a receiver because it’ll provide way better sound than a traditional sound bar. If you’re looking for one that’s not too expensive, a lot of people seem to like Sonos.

Scott I have a receiver now that is a Pioneer Elite VSX-LX101. I’ve had it for about 3 yrs. Are you saying keep the receiver and just add a good SB? Thank you for the information.

Sonos Beam is good for smaller spaces. I have them in bedrooms and can sync up to the bathroom speakers with the amp, sync rooms, stream whatever to individual ones or throughout the house. There are great for all the connected options.Depends on your definition of pricey, I would ultimately recommend getting a passive sound bar with a receiver because it’ll provide way better sound than a traditional sound bar. If you are looking for a main/movie room, you will need bass.

Grabbed the 49" X900F from BB yesterday, very happy with it so far. HDR is showing things I've never seen before (because my old Samsung had very weak HDR - KU6900).

More importantly, the size is perfect, it actually still feels pretty big, 55" would have been overkill. Actual viewing distance factoring in some separation from the wall, etc. is more like 3.5' instead of 5-6'.Comment
