It will cost you $4.99, but if you want to explore some settings that give you a lot more options check out Quantum TV - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...zaCWC4SJZF_HPU

Except you can't get a proper calibration done by just changing some numbers. Every panel is different, regardless if it's the same TV or not.

Gaming seems good enough to me. The motion can be wonky with things like fast moving hands, or feet. Coming from a plasma though maybe my expectations are too high.
So I'm returning this one now too

I can't get over how bad the motion around things like people are. It's like there is a halo around moving objects. Maybe I just got a bad panel. It's a shame because everything else is absolutely great for the price.

Decided I'm just going to get a C1 for my office, and an even cheaper set for the family room. My wife doesn't care and it's probably going to get busted by a toddler in the coming years. So might as well just have the good TV in a kid-free zone.

I gave it a fair shot. The issue I see doesn't seem to really be mentioned anywhere even when mentioning poor motion. I didn't notice red ghosting or anything like that. So I guess I lost the panel lottery. I can see why Rtings would recommend the TV on most of their Best Of Lists.

It will be interesting to see how the 2022 budgets sets pan out. Hisense/TCL continue to make advances. Sony can't even bother with VRR.

Well QD-OLED is the future and to my knowledge that's something that neither Hisense nor TCL are going to get involved in, at least right now.

I don't care for this guy's stuff. Plenty of other good starting settings out there that aren't behind a paywall. And like Scott said, never go off someone else's calibration.

It sucks you're having issues with it though.

The future is usually pretty expensive at first. Even if Hisense/TCL do not get into that space they can continue to improve on where they work best which is the budget range.

I wouldn't go in and do all the white balancing, but base settings won't be that insanely different panel to panel. I only mentioned it as an alternative to jumping to an expensive pro calibration if a person is not satisfied with others they have used.

I ended up with a 65" TCL S546 in the family room. It's not awful . I really only notice blooming on specific scenarios. Motion handling is way better than the U8G. Overall for something my kid will probably break in the next couple year it isn't bad for the price.

Looking at getting a 48" C1 for my office this week. It's down to $1,049.

Sony finally pushed out their VRR update today for their higher end last year model TVs.

What is Samsung doing? The QD-OLED is just being called Samsung OLED. The price is reasonable though at $3500 pre-order.

The Sony is literally $500 more. If I were in the market, I’d opt for that.

But I have no idea why they aren’t calling it QD-OLED.
