Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

My Amazon Firestick came today and was way easier to use than I thought it would. The FuboTV App downloaded instantly for me and I had to sync it with my existing subscription.

Thank you guys for the recommendation, so pleased!

One question. Can you bring the firestick with you and hook it to anyone's tv? Link it to their wifi but still log into the apps under my subscription?

Just wondering as I downloaded the Crave App that has HBO Max. My mom and dad come over to watch Julia on HBO Max because they don't have HBO. Can I just lend it to them and they can watch it at their place?

For gaming I would say it’s fairly good, especially for the price.

I only really play MLB The Show. My tv just seems off. Anybody find a tv that just blows them away playing this. The lighting in the game is just too dim imo.

I have a Samsung Crystal series tv. Maybe my picture settings are just wack.

I haven't played it in a few years but I also had that problem with it. I had to turn up the brightness.

The Samsung Crystal series TVs are entry level TVs. They don't get that bright. I never have any issue while gaming on an OLED.

You have a low end TV. Samsung's cheaper TVs are just bad. Try raising the brightness within the game settings itself.

I've been looking for the brightness settings. They used to have different visual settings. Did they get rid of that?

Just ordered a PS5, I’ve had a Sony 65 Bravia XBR for probably 7 years or more. Time for an upgrade

The QN90 is the better between the two.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I purchased the Sony 42” Class BRAVIA XR A90K Series OLED for my mom for her birthday. She always talks about how the TV in her room is too small (which it is for where she sits) but she always had a 48" LED that is too big for the wall space between her closet and bathroom. This should fit perfectly, especially with a wall mount. I'll be picking it up Friday. Maybe I'll look into a 36" soundbar (or less) for her as well.

She always seems to be moved by my younger sister's Roku TV and my older sister's Apple TV, though. Even though she has DirecTV and there is this little thing called a SmartHub, she'll still go: "Why don't I have those things? Do you have those things?" I never use my SmartHub on my televisions though because I have PS4's or PC's to do the trick, but I guess she is for the convenience of it all. I hope the processor on this OLED is fast enough that she won't wonder why a Roku TV would not be superior to a DTV/Google TV combo.

Ok so after extensive research, going to BB tomorrow to see in person but probably gonna get the LG C1 65 inch. Anyone have any idea how much I could sell my current 2014 Sony Bravia X850B? It’s a 65 inch. Craigslist or FB marketplace be the best options?
