    Re: The Office: Season 8

Not a fan at all of this season. It's just boring and it's missing the bite it once had. I like the analogy someone had referring to this series as watching Brett Favre's last few seasons. How many times can we be forced to root for Andy being the underdog. I really enjoyed the one episode with him getting the tattoo, but the other episodes lack any of the humor it once had. I realize that the show wouldn't be the same without Steve Carrell, however, this is just too bad for me to even devote 30 minutes to each week. Even my boy Jim isn't funny anymore and that breaks my heart...

The Office is missing that awkward humor that made it so popular, now it just seems forced...I know it goes against popular opinion in this thread, I'm glad you guys still enjoy the show!

Agreed. NBC is still struggling mightily, and this is far and away their most viewed comedy. NBC is not going to end the show.

Not a bad episode. Spader's character has gone off the deep end, but still.

This show is just not that good anymore. It has it's moments, but it feels like it's run its course. Steve Carrell is The Office.

I'm really behind on this season, but the same with just about every show this season.

I was watching some episodes again on netflix cause I didn't know what to watch and it's one of my favorite series. Where it started to go downhill imo was after Jim/Pam's wedding, that was such a perfect ending to the best storyline they had going all throughout the series.

Not that it wasn't good after that as they had some great episodes after and the way Michael left was pretty good imo, but I think that's what hurt the series more so then Michael leaving as they always had smaller storylines but the Jim/Pam was one that was constant through many seasons.

I still like the show, gives me something to do on Thursday nights with my GF. It isn't the same, but I like that without the Michael Scott character you can get other characters involved in the show. I loved the cold open with Jim, Dwight and Stanley.

I thought at times over the last 3 or 4 seasons it was missing some bite on some episodes.

I actually like this season better than some recent ones.

For the most part I never was a big fan of Jim's pranks. I thought he was always funnier and more likable when he was in situations that put him off, like last night's.

I liked last night's episode, but I thought the ending was a little WTF. I guess The main purpose was to show the extreme brown nosing behavior of some of the employees.

That's not how the series has run it's course. I love Carrell and look forward to his future work, but I don't miss him that much on The Office-time to move on.

I actually cracked up during the whole Dwight pass out because he's too committed to chicken fighting in the pool.

Not sure what a hit is nowadays. I know that the highest rating for The Office was #52, which they've virtually maintained for three years.

Having said that it is NBC's highest rated scripted series and they charge $180,000 per 30 second commercial.

NBC is planning a Dwight Schrute spin off show for midseason in 2013.

None of the main cast members are under contract for a Season 9 right now but NBC is trying to sign everybody up right now (I don't see Helms or Krasinski sticking around)
