So I re-watched a couple of scenes and something else struck me as missing that was pretty important.

      Spoiler

That said, I enjoyed a lot of this episode not as much the stuff with Dany, but I know her story gets a lot better. Margery's scene with Littlefinger was a good one too. Another solid episode, Tyrion is doing a great job, and I live his and Bronn's interactions.

Bronn's quickly become my favorite sword. Jorah...I dunno. He's badass, but I don't think his story will turn out so well. As would what's his name, the old guy that used to run the Kingsguard that Joffery made leave in season 1. Forgot his name. He hasn't turned up yet...but I know he will. Too hyped up to not make a future appearance.

Wow, didn't expect Renly to just get offed like that. By the Shadow Baby Ninja Assassin no less!

Who else cheered when Brienne kicked major ***? I think I'm gonna like her serving Catelyn.

I'm really looking forward to Arya's storyline now. Her arc has been gaining momentum for the past two episodes.

I'm sure your spoiler will make it into the show somehow. Like you said, it's very important.

Crazy to think that after this episode the season will be 60% complete.

Ugh, many things about that episode that I REALLY didn't like. But I suppose I need to see what direction the writers are taking certain plots/storylines before I say to much.

I hated last night's episode as a book fan. The stupid "stolen dragons" with Dany (I guess they need to give her more screen time and filler?), rushing the Jon/Ygritte stuff and doing it in a totally re-written manner, still having a "Talisa from Volantis", and the Roose Bolton "oh hey, my son can free Winterfell" thing were just some of the stuff that drove me nuts.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. It was probably the worst book-to-screen episode thus far. That said, I think they did a really good job with Theon and Winterfell. Given they were able to flush that part of the story out in about 20 minutes of screen time is a credit to the writers.

They fell flat in other scenes.

For those that haven't read the books then it is probably a case of no harm, no foul. But man that episode failed in so many regards in the book-to-screen translation in such a big way IMO. I have no idea where they are going with Dany and Jon next week. I guess one of the nice things is that in two weeks there is a huge battle coming, which probably took up a lot of the budget (I read they had to go to HBO and ask for more money) and it is written by GRRM, so regardless I will be looking forward to that episode. Despite my issues with this episode, I have to admit given all they changes they made I am looking forward to seeing how they get the story back on track if they do, so I am looking forward to next week a bit.

Anything they can do to make her chapters from ACOK less unbearable is a plus to me. The last few times I read that book I actually skipped her chapters altogether and it made the book about 200% better.

I kind of feel sorry for you Johnny because you are so obsessed with everything being just like it was in the books that you really can't enjoy such an awesome series.

Haven't read ACOK so I'm just going to rehash the most repetitive thing you can say about this show...

                                THAT WAS TOO ****ING GOOD!

I thought Theon would have a battle with his conscience but it looks like he's committed to being a Greyjoy. His scene with Bran in the bed chamber was funny because it looked like Bran wasn't taking him seriously (and still didn't) until Rodrick got offed.

I'm beginning to like the Hound. Clearly, ole' Dog has a soft spot of some sort for Sansa.

Everything with Arya is just fantastic. Maise Williams deserves an award.

As for Jon, I'm interested in seeing what happens with him and Ygritte. She's a pretty wildling and it was hilarious to see him so uncomfortable with her grinding into him.

I can't believe we're six episodes in and just like season one, things are ramping up.

Oh yeah, since he showed up..... THE KING IN THE NORTH!
