Yeah i don't bother either even though i could.

As you said its only for people trying to squeeze every single frame out of their hardware, and to me is more of a headache than not going through the process for a few frames and less life on the hardware.

I have bought some OC edition GPUs before though.

Ya, looked around a bit more and that puppy is gonna be returned. But since I'm getting a reimbursement for it, I can put that toward a 32" 1080p HP monitor I found ...thanks.

I would highly recommend 1440p monitors, particularly for monitors over 27 inches.

GPUs are literally the easiest thing to overclock and requires no headache.

Download 3DMark, use a OC utility (EVGA Precision is great) and literally raise up a few values and run stress test through 3DMark. Unlike CPU, if it’s unstable, it just crashes software and doesn’t lock your PC.

CPU is definitely a headache but once set, you’re good. I definitely will wait till I need to overclock my i7.

However, you cannot mess up a GPU overclock as there are hard limits you can’t surpass.. its worth doing.. big reward, little to no risk.

Thanks for the info. I want to overclock my GPU. My biggest concern is reducing the lifespan of the card by overclocking it.

I rarely seen anyone reduce the life of a card unless you’r talking about keeping the card over a decade or something where most people will upgrade by then.

Unless you trying to keep the gpu for 7 years or so do not worry about it

Is the GPU the only thing tremendously affected by overclocking? Curious, because if so I’ll really start doing it more often.

How often do gamers game, and what ratio are they overclocking? Lol silly question I know. Or better yet, say somebody games two hours a day and overclocks the entire time, then four years later they upgrade their GPU, what other internal components have been harmed in the process?

The only things that ever failed on me are cpu water cooling units, power supply and motherboard just straight dying but it was pretty old almost 10 years and I over clock all the time. I don’t try to squeeze out everything I can get, I find out what most people run comfortably and go with that. Granted I’ve had my fair share of crashes but not to a point where I won’t OC.

Granted I take care of my pc, always remove dust and clean it every other month.

I think you would have to do some crazy amount of gaming or your not monitoring and not cooling your system properly to **** up a cpu and gpu being overclocked.

It is so many Youtube guides for overclocking your CPU and GPU that it is idiot proof now. Don't overclock if you want a quiet PC though. Overclocking uses more power, which creates more heat, which mean your fans have to run at a much higher RPM to keep it cool. The higher the RPM, the more noise it will make.

That is the one thing people don't ever think about until they do it and then complain about the noise.

After previously canceling my secretlabs order for fear of the chair being too firm to use I bought a task chair that my friend recommended. That chair was nice but it didn't quite suit what I wanted out of my gaming chair so I resubmitted my order for the Titan. I literally just built it and my early impression is very happy.

The last time I bought one of these style chairs it was from Needforseat. I ended up returning it because the seat was so firm it literally left me bruised after a day of sitting. I can already tell that this one isn't going to have that same issue because while the seat is supportive it isn't firm like a rock. 20200723_122417.jpeg

GOG's latest update is integration with Epic Games. Cool.

Also, Epic is having their summer sale. Not much out there that Steam didn't have previously, but Control is currently 50% off. I'll probably snag that this weekend.

Semi on topic. Anyone use a mesh wifi in their house? I set one up the netgear orbi a couple months ago. When it works it works fantastic, but I keep encountering some issues that are very annoying.

I have two Samsung q8 series tvs connected via wifi. Occasionally I won't be able connect to things like Netflix even though my wifi is working on the TV. I have a couple of work around like manually setting the DNS and just doing a full network reset on the tvs. Annoying to have to do every couple of weeks though.

We've had a handful of power blips in the area the last couple of months. When they happen it takes forever for the wifi to get running again. I usually have to pull the plug to get it to reset properly, and one time i had to do a full system reset. I bought a batter backup to plug it and the modem into, but that didn't help.

I'd give the system a 10/10 when it works right, but I've never had to do so much network troubleshooting.

In total 12 (14 if you count the 2 hubs around the house) , not all of them on at the same time, and mine is the rbk40 with triband so I wouldn't think that I've exceeded any limits
