I think there have been mixed reactions on that site.

What is your budget? Building yourself is always funner Might as well just buy a console if you get one pre-built.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread

Honestly just want to know how to choose the parts wisely. lol

I was on the site earlier and I had no clue what I was doing just looked at the price of parts (the video card, motherboard etc.) and thought "Hey that must be the best one because it cost the most."

Wanted to know what kind of PC I could get with a 1500$ or less budget on that site. Would I be able to run the top shelf games like Bioshock Infinite or GTAV (if it comes out on PC that is..)

Heck yes, and for much less than 1500 bucks... check the last 30 pages or so and you'll see we've had the same convo about this...

Actually if you have the cash, get your parts from NewEgg because they are cheaper standalone.

You can get a nice PC on that budget to play games on ultra...

Lol yea I've used Windows 8 on campus.. and even from my 10 mins with it I wasn't a fan at all. Too different and I'm guessing it's not great for gaming is it?

No its fine for gaming just other things

First of all 10 minutes isnt enough time to really get used to it or learn what it can do...just trust me man its not a matured OS right now and not worth the headache.

That's not hot at all. What cpu do you have?

I think I am going to pick up the hyper 212 myself, I idle at around 40C using an H60. Maybe I've got a bad one but during load tests it doesn't seem to be able handle a slight voltage increase when I overclock my 8350.

Here's something I put out on ibuypower:

AZZA Solaris Gaming Case - Black
                      AMD FX-6300 CPU 6x 3.50GHz/6MB L2 Cache
                      8 GB [4 GB X2] DDR3-1600 Memory Module
                      AMD Radeon HD 7970 - 3GB - Single Card
                      Motherboard ( Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 -- AMD 970 )
                      Power Supply 750 Watt - Corsair CX750
Primary Hard Drive ( 120 GB ADATA S510 SSD - Single Drive )
                      24X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive Black
                      ( 12-In-1 Internal Flash Media Card Reader/Writer - Black )
                      ( ASUS USB-N13 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 300Mbps Wireless USB Adapter )

This and a few other things are totaling up to $1,171.00 before adding the shipping and handling. This is without a monitor because I figured I'd use my TV for gaming and my current monitor which is some Dell1908FP for internet surfing and everything else lol

Find those same parts on newegg and see how much it rings up too

Not too bad... I have the FX-6100 which is just fine but that graphics card you're looking at is better than mine. Altimus just got that one and said it works on ultra with no tweaking...

I know on newegg they are pairing Bioshock and Tomb Raider with certain graphics cards invade you go that rout.

Also still haven't heard squat about my motherboard. I'm hoping Tuesday it starts to get sent back to me.

Couldn't find the same case but on newegg, amazon, and microcenter it was about 999.91. This was without a case, keyboard, or mouse.

I'm not really sure if I got everything to match though. I just put it in on newegg and if it didn't show up I'd find something closest to it. Similar name and all.

On iBuy with ground shipping it'll run me $1,246.00

If you get the CPU/Motherboard combo deal at Microcenter you get $40 off of that price, unless it was already factored in.
