Budget of $500-$1K. I don't plan on gaming with it but would prefer a higher tiered processor with the volume of financials I deal with.
Is it for gaming too or just general office use?

I have a PS4, likely a PS5 next year so just office use.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

        Any luck with this?

My case had RBG on the front panel that is connected via USB so I had to daisy-link all my fans and connect them to the fan headers and the RGB header on the mobo.

I looked around a bit and not seeing one I'd like to recommend at a given price point for the specs. I'd recommend looking for an i5-10xxx or i7-10xxx series as they include integrated graphics and don't require a discrete graphics card. The intel 9xxx series would be okay too. Ryzens may be better, but you would need to pay extra as it does require a graphics card to be included. Another small thing that will make a pc feel alot faster is an SSD.

AMD 6000 series reviews coming in, competes nicely with NVDA cards, not quite as well with Ray tracing.

Yeah got it all fixed, I daisy chained the rear fans to the kraken instead and got it working.

Does anyone ever watch JayzTwoCents on YouTube. I find his videos to be entertaining, yet very informative.

It will be interesting to see how they perform in the hands of the masses. I'm very snake bit on AMD gpus after the 5700xt where everyone I know, myself included, who had that card ended up trashing it despite good benchmarks. Older amd cards are of course fine, but their drivers have always lagged behind the hardware.

Used to. The only tech YouTubers I really check out now is Level1Techs from time to time. They may not be as entertaining as Jay but are a lot more knowledgeable and informative.

Man I wasn't even close to getting one today. Newegg went from page not loading to out of stock. Amazon page loaded fine but was out of stock immediately at 9AM on the dot. AMD Direct showed cards in stock but when you added to cart the site crashed. Went like that until out of stock. Word is that AIB vendors will make up the bulk of launch stock so we'll see on the 25th. If I don't get it, it's whatever, I don't need the upgrade, just wanted it. I can wait.

In the meantime I'm so glad I managed to snag a 5600X CPU. HUGE upgrade from the 1700. Cashed out my Bing rewards for Amazon gift cards as well and got two 1TB Samsung 970 EVO m.2s without paying a dime out of pocket so my system is cruising along. In retrospect I should have gotten just the one 2TB and saved 50 bucks, might return them and do just that actually.

One of my fans stopped running. The top one in my case. I assume the only think I can do is change it?

It sucks because it was literally just put in a month ago.

Try and unplug the fan and plug it back in. Could be a loose connection

Sometimes fans just get a random short in it. One of my fans did it last week. It was working but not in the RPM range it needed to be at and it was throwing errors for me on my PC. Opened her up, put in a new one and back to normal. Took just 5 minutes to do since I also blew my case out with air too.

My parents have a 10-year old Dell XPS 9100. Beast of a computer I got for them when I was a teen.

I noticed when I was at their house yesterday the thing sounded like a jet engine so we took one of the panels off and the fans were loaded with dust...took an air compressor and cleaned all of the insides. However, a day later and it's still doing the same thing. CPU temps get to 80C+ when just opening Chrome and navigating to a website like ESPN...no other apps are running. It running at ~70C without anything running.

What could be the reason? I was thinking perhaps getting new fans? It's a 2in fan and a tube fan thingy (to use proper jargon!) but they look fine after cleaning them and they look like they're running as intended.

You probably have to reapply thermal paste on the processor.
