If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -
Re: Dexter (Season 7)
Just finished watching episode 4 and all I can say is "wow". Simply the best episode in recent memory and this season so far has been on par with season 1 and 2. I liked season 4 but mostly because of Lithgow and overall I find it at a level below the 1st 2 seasons but still markedly above the other listless seasons. Season 7 may end up being the best ever which is shocking to me, but in a very nice way.
Will watch episode 5 tomorrow but yeah Harrison is gone and we probably won't see him again until next year. Necessary evil. But Ray Stevenson is a big part of this season. The plot may be unimaginative about the baddies going after Dexter but he is effectively chilling in his role and at this rate may end up out doing Lithgow as the best villain. It also might be that he looks so good because Hanks was so lame.
Haven't seen Dexter that psychotically animated at the end since season 2 when he lost his cool talking with Doakes. It's nice that the writers remembered that Dexter is really unstable deep down and him mimicking Speltzer was hilarious. The whole episode was just dripping with suspense.
While many of us are surprised that Dexter has rebounded so nicely, its more of a case that this type of series, at most, should be 5 seasons long. Trying to have filler seasons with this type of character is fruitless because the secondary characters are too weak and then you end up with crap like Seasons 3, 5 and 6.Last edited by Seymour Scagnetti; 10-31-2012, 04:26 PM.Comment

Re: Dexter (Season 7)
It's been awhile since I've watched it but I don't even think Season 5 was all that bad. It's biggest fault was giving us the illusion that something big was going to happen at the end only to cop out completely and wrap everything up way too neatly. Other than that I thought it was a pretty decent season, especially coming off of an epic Season 4.While many of us are surprised that Dexter has rebounded so nicely, its more of a case that this type of series, at most, should be 5 seasons long. Season 3, from what I recall, wasn't too great. It had it's moments but the Miguel thing kinda flopped. And I don't think anything more needs to be said about Season 6 that hasn't been already.
I'm just glad that it looks like the show is going to finish strong.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Dexter (Season 7)
Just watch episode 5 and another strong show. I dont check how many shows that actors are signed up for because it's a spoiler for me but I'm thinking Issac may be directly involved in the eventual demise or capture of Dexter next season.Comment

Re: Dexter (Season 7)
Yeah, I didn't think he would kill her either but it still surprised me when he gave her the needle (in more ways than one I guess?
)
The thing that kind of bothers me is that it became clear this episode -- to me, at least -- that Hannah is supposed to be a parallel to Deb, specifically when she's talking about how she "didn't care if Wayne turned out to be the bad guy because she wanted to hold on to the fantasy", the same way Deb accepted that Dexter is the bad guy (well, not necessarily the bad guy, but a killer) and she accepted it in part because she was having those fantasies about her and him together.
Also, classic Dexter exchange tonight: "I wanna take you out." "On a date?" "That'll work."Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Dexter (Season 7)
This is what I was trying to get at with Season 6 and Debra not realizing the connection.The thing that kind of bothers me is that it became clear this episode -- to me, at least -- that Hannah is supposed to be a parallel to Deb, specifically when she's talking about how she "didn't care if Wayne turned out to be the bad guy because she wanted to hold on to the fantasy", the same way Deb accepted that Dexter is the bad guy (well, not necessarily the bad guy, but a killer) and she accepted it in part because she was having those fantasies about her and him together.
It's either a theme the writers use as their calling card - in which case I need to start paying attention to it in earlier seasons if it exists - or they saw their missed opportunity and realized they have a chance for Debra to make a connection about her brother and the people that cross his life.This is why I was upset earlier this thread with the psychiatrist angle. I liked that they threw that in...but was distraught with Deb not ever coming to the conclusion that she is Travis's sister. It really isn't a far-fetched thought. Inquiring minds try to find comparisons to their struggle. It was thrown at our faces (Travis the killing brother with a loving sister and dead parents. Duh) and yet for what? That was an opportunity to use that device and they just let it die."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
