If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

See, that's just absurd to me then.
There are other check marks. Why does Dexter's stand out? Am I missing something?

My memory is failing me. Does anyone outside of Debra know that Dex and the Ice Truck Killer are biological brothers? Deb found this out in season 4 and confided to a shrink a couple of seasons ago.Comment

My impression was that LaGuerta is suspicious of Dexter/Deb because Deb wanted LaGuerta to forget the whole thing and stop investigating it.Originally posted by billmaticRadman is more like the ******** homeless man's version of Okur.Comment

Exactly. Debs been openly trying to get LaGuerta to drop the case, when she's usually the one who is leading the charge with these kind of things. It's strike me as odd as well. Especially when Doakes did nothing but try and tell LaGuerta that Dexter was setting him up and everything.Comment

But, if her suspicions come from there then I accept it. I just feel she needs to acknowledge that at some point because if it goes from her just heavily investigating Dexter and offering no real reason but his name being check marked, I'm not gonna be convinced it makes sense."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Dexter (Season 7)
IIRC, during the bay harbor butcher investigation they started to suspect that the butcher was police, which is why they had the cops cross checked against boating registrations (seems like I remember them checking boats and also checking security camera tapes at the marinas). Once Doakes was framed and died, all that investigation, the one closing in on Dexter, went away.
Looking at those screenshots it doesn't line up though, the boat report is a year old (too old for current investigation, not old enough for original investigation) and police registry is current (which makes no sense for previous investigation or current, since there's no new reason to suspect an inside tamper, so you would look at retired/fired/etc police as well, maybe even first). Could just be bad prop design.Comment

Re: Dexter (Season 7)
Doakes had an infatuation with Dexter, this is true. I thought LaGuerta was the one that stepped in and told Doakes to leave Dexter alone.
But, if her suspicions come from there then I accept it. I just feel she needs to acknowledge that at some point because if it goes from her just heavily investigating Dexter and offering no real reason but his name being check marked, I'm not gonna be convinced it makes sense.
Sorry, but that makes no sense. I don't need them to have a stupid conversation where they point out **** an observant and longtime viewer should already know. Please lets not dumb the show down anymore than necessary.Comment

So you acknowledge that there's a legitimate reason for her to hone in on Dexters name when she sees it, but you want to be spoon fed that same reason or else you wont accept it?

I don't recall her being suspicious of him.
Have you?
So if she's suspicious because of something Doakes said or did then it deserves mention because she's never acted on anything Doakes said or did.
You can't just assume she randomly acknowledges it just because of Doakes.
Ask yourself right now if LaGuerta has legitimate reasons to suspect Dexter. If she does, then that's what I'm missing. I don't see it though.

Re: Dexter (Season 7)
I wasn't much of a fan of episode 6, especially the ending (outside of the Yvonne visuals of course), but they did a nice job of setting up the end of episode 7. Depending how this season finishes it should top seasons 3, 5, and 6. It doesn't quite have the dramatic tension of 1, 2 and 4, at least not for me, but it's definitely nice to see them turn things around after such a big drop off. It's a show I'm eager to stay caught up on once again.
I agree, if LaGuerta is going to start honing in on Dexter it needs some clarification. Unless there's specific reason for her to suspect him that they make known, it would've made more sense for her to be looking at the cross-referenced lists starting with the first name on it. Having Dexter's name shown on camera as further down the list would have achieved the same effect for the viewer without seeming too contrived.Comment
