    Re: Gotham

I find the whole show corny as it's not limited to just the ridiculous villain plots. Bruce is probably the most grounded part of the show right now. I'm enjoying the show for what it is, but I've never been under the impression to take the show seriously at all.

While Bruce may be portrayed in a grounded way I find it kind of laughable that this rich kid is suddenly spending hours and hours going through legal papers and documents like that. I can see someone his age maybe trying that to start but then losing interest. I know that is playing into the established mythos but you never got the sense that Bruce was this child prodigy who was immediately a great mind for procedural/legalistic stuff.

It would've been nice if they showed a little more of the boy that Bruce was before his parents were murdered and how he withdrew from the world due to his parents death. I know they showed him staying at Wayne Manor but maybe have a friend of his or something trying to talk to him and get him out of his funk only for us to see that this is no funk, that he's now become a changed person and he can't relate to the fun n' games of youth.

I dunno, it seems they ask us to believe too much too quickly.

        Re: Gotham

I feel like the writers of this show went in with the notion that there was no way in hell it gets picked up for a full order. The first few weeks, everything seemed rushed and contrived. Now, everything seems to lead to nowhere. The plot advancement has been horrendous. I feel Ben McKenzie is a very strong TV actor, but his lines are terrible. I get the whole campy feel, as it is based in a comic universe... BUT, I feel like they need to sober it up a bit and be a little more straight forward. Have a lingering plot line other than Penguin. Have a real villain; not all comic book-esque.

Focus more on the human aspect of the underworld, and the corruption aspect with Gordon. No stupid villains like the goat or viper-ingesting people.

I gave it a shot but it's pretty boring for me. I'll stick with Arrow and The Flash which are a lot more fun, the action is so much better. Constantine looks interesting so I'll check that out next.

I liked the scene where Fish Mooney lost her temper with Penguin. I guess she doesn't like to be called Fish.

Here's the Easter Egg from last week's episode in case you guys missed it. Towards the end of the episode supposedly you can see a question mark Riddler logo on Edward Ngyma's coffee cup.

That was a damned good episode. Easily the best of the show thus far.

Still, all these Batman villains showing up without Batman. Of course they wouldn't stand a chance, he's at least 10-15 years younger once he becomes the full-fledged *** kicker he's destined to become.

Yeah this week's episode was the best they've done, so far. Edward really showed that he's Don of Gotham in this episode. I expect Fish Mooney to get knocked off by Penguin in the last episode of this season.

Last night's episode was great the best of the season so far in my opinion. I've grown to enjoy the show the more I watch it. It's not perfect but I think they'll smooth things out more as the show goes on.

Yup, restored my faith in the series after that episode. It was a bit more gritty, a bit more depth, and they stuck into the scenes longer. It wasn't too quick, but not dragging either. Well done. Hope that tone continues on, so I can stop comparing how good Arrow is to my wife

I think I particularly enjoyed it because was an episode that didn't do the 'here's the villain/crime of the episode' that Gordon and Bullock had to go solve. Not that it's really a huge issue, but the focus on Penguin, Gordon and the other main characters in this episode made it very compelling.

Finally an episode that will keep me wanting to watch. It finally had some meat to it. It was good seeing Penguins back story to Falcone. I also liked seeing Victor Zsasz make an appearance. The question mark easter egg was nice as well.
