Anyone know if there's still an episode this Sunday, with it being a holiday weekend?

A shot that close in the stomach wearing a vest would have hurt, a lot, but as long as it was low enough to avoid the liver or spleen I would say he'd be OK, just in pain.

A shotgun that close at a vest, imagine it being a hit with a sledgehammer.

Salt wouldn't have knocked him on his *** like that.

Even if he's wearing a vest, you have to assume the killer isn't going to let him live. Like "Okay, shot him twice now I'll just walk away...." if he's alive it's because the killer let him live for some reason.

Can a vest really stop a shotgun burst at that range? I'm like somewhat knowledgeable on firearms and I feel like it could not. And even if it did, there's no way the killer would just walk away without making sure he's completely dead.

So yeah, very intrigued as to how this is going to play out.

I know we probably shouldn't get too technical here because at the end of the day it is just television, but the gun the Crow (or whatever the hell that mask is) was using was a sawed off, which would lessen the power of the load due to the spread being much wider, even at that range.

Now, how that effects the vest's ability to withstand the load is beyond me.

You have to be a little technical on something like that. True Detective might be a little 'out there' sometimes, but the show is still very much grounded to reality. So they can't stretch logic like that where "Oh, he survived a SHOTGUN blast at point blank to his stomach without a vest". There has to be some kind of miraculous explanation as to why he's alive.

And I still think no matter what the explanation is, the killer still spared him in some way. Perhaps like John Doe spared Brad Pitt in Se7en, which is a movie I've always felt the show attempts to parallel in a few ways.

No doubt about that imo. Not to keen on the casting this season outside of Colin. VV hasn't impressed me at all but McAdams has been ok..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I think for what people expect McAdams to be, she has been great.

I was really cold on Vince in the first episode. He seemed very stiff with no depth, but again, episode two he really came into his own and delivered. Love the car scene where the Russian's jump the bookie and he comes over and helps him out. That's what I expected out of him. Some sarcastic humor mixed with some grittiness. Excited to see him develop.

I generally feel the same way about Farrell. I can't remember the last movie of his that I saw where I actually enjoyed him as an actor but he was fantastic these first two episodes, so I hope to god he isn't actually dead.

I'd be surprised if it were NBC, CBS, ABC or Fox. HBO shows run 20 times a week so no reason to hold off.

Yep and the major reason a network would avoid the holiday weekend is ratings for advertisements.

                              HBO doesn't care about ratings.
