    Spider-Man: Homecoming

"This is all obviously very speculative, but the latest tidbit comes from Latino Review, whose sources now indicate that Marvel is not interested in giving creative control of Spider-Man to Sony or “honoring the contracts with Sony's Spider-Stars.” In other words, no Andrew Garfield. The site adds that the rumored Aunt May solo film and Female Character Spider-Man team-up movie were concepts that Marvel Studios “severely disliked.” Of course they did."

“IF the Marvel/Sony deal were to go forward,” says LR, “Andrew Garfield would no longer be Peter Parker and any baggage from existing films, [directors Sam] Raimi or [Marc] Webb, would be non-canonical.” Marvel wants a clean slate, apparently, and they are not interested in doing any more so-called “romance” movies but would rather “focus on the difficulties of being a teenager and a superhero with a romance side-story.” Neither is an origin story part of the plan, so a Marvel Spidey movie would reportedly pick up with Peter Parker already living his double life as a hero."

Apparently if Marvel and Sony agree to a deal, Marvel does not want Andrew Garfield as their Spider-Man.

    Re: Potentially, Another Spider-Man Reboot

After starting off so well the Spider-Man franchise is turning into a more successful version of the creative eff ups that doomed The Hulk as a viable movie franchise.

If this goes through I really hope people aren't that gullible to swallow a SECOND reboot.

In this case, I don't think a reboot would be a bad idea. I do like Garfield so I'd hate to see him go, but if Marvel were to take over, I don't think you can continue on with the continuity that's been established under Sony. Or maybe they come to some sort of compromise that keeps Garfield but wipes the current continuity where he's meant to be a little younger but been Spidey for a while? IDK, I just don't think dumping the character as is into the MCU is a great idea.

Cmon, do it! They need to work him into the Avengers anyway

Meh, I'd rather they do a cinematic version of Miles Morales.

Funny as I say this there is a chance/rumor already out there that he could be in CAP 3

Not I. I really dislike the way the character is a shell and can be filled by some other persona. I realize this is all fantasy, but with the creative minds in the Marvel company, there is so much possibility in generating a new character versus rebooting an existing one, especially one that has "higher standing" in the Marvel universe. So, sorry, but I get lost on the female Thor and stuff like that.

I don't wanna get into TOS areas around here.... I just don't like males and females switching around characters (we don't have and don't need a male Black Widow) as much as I don't like people of a different race switching (we don't have and don't need a Caucasian Black Panther). There's something about the uniqueness of each. There's plenty of room for all of the characters, as we have seen, and there's plenty of room to create more, as we have seen.

Since it seems it's inevitable that the Amazing Spider-Man is going to be shut down, is there anyone you guys would like to see replace Garfield?

Here are some of the guys who missed out on the role the last time around.

Honestly, of that list.. As much as I was one of those "Oh God, Andrew Garfield..".. I feel we lucked out with him getting the role.

I guess all the spin offs they were planning around spidermans villains isn't being scrapped as well? Ie venom and sinister six.

I thought he was decent as Peter Parker but great as spiderman. He just didn't have much to work with as Peter... So much mushy dialogue.

They should prob get someone early 20s to be spiderman. Not sure who though. Darn that guy who plays the flash on cw would be great though

Well, it's official....Spidey will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel's version (produced by Feige and the Marvel team) will debut in one of the upcoming - presumably/rumored to be CA: Civil War - MCU films and then get his own in 2017.

This is great news. I wonder who will they cast? Sucks that they have discontinue the current Spidey story but this will be so good with the rest of the Marvel teams.

I really liked the last two Spider-Man movies.

Way better than the previous 3.

I wish it would have continued on because I'm not a comic or comic movie person really. I like Batman and Spider-Man.
