So, if Bernard is a host, then what about the Ricki Lake looking gal that's been working with him? Is she a host too?

Anyway, I thought last nights episode was one of the best, as well. I'm not trying to get caught up with all the wild theories and stuff because doing so has disappointed me in the past. I'm just enjoying it for what it is and for Thandie Newton, who did an outstanding job in last nights episode.

I find im not getting caught up in the wild theories because I'm bored. Think I'm only watching because of the cast.

If something comes up and I get more than an episode behind I'll probably just start reading recaps.

Your pic in the spoiler is really hard to see for me, it is very dark.

It's a host that looks eerily similar to the Gunslinger in the original film.

I think it's an Easter egg for fans.

                      Re: Westworld (HBO)

That ending was satisfying. If you haven't watched the episode, don't read the rest of my post because I'm not going to spoiler tag an episode that already aired.

The lines written for Bernard always piqued my interest since episode 1. His line, "what door?" immediately after stating hosts could not see the house if it stood in front of them was amazing to hear with the episode coming to a close.

My thinking is Theresa comes back a host.

And I suspect that a good number of the board are hosts as well ("this time they sent you") which is why Ford isn't worried about them. "They wouldn't do anything," is a bold comment and something someone who actually controls the board says, and his reaction to watching Bernard get fired was as if he's been plotting a lot of this in advance.

I also think it's important that Bernard's host diagram did not show his name.

Plus I have thoughts on "Elsie being on leave." To me, another clever scene that's not entirely what it seems.

I kinda think we flash back to him taking her down there too or something similar.

Best episode all season with the most obvious of reveals, but of course built up to by the stuff that had me nearly quitting.

Agree, pointing out not being able to see the house followed by not being able to see the door, confirmation for those paying attention leaves you anticipating the payoff a short time later.

I can see this because a part of me wonders how anyone in Bernard's department could be human without noticing that he hasn't aged in x amount of years.

However, Elsie being made a host is not what I think is happening. I think she is definitely on leave but also not on leave. To explain would require me talking about the other theories I agree with. I don't talk about it openly because I'm afraid it'll consume others the way it has consumed me when watching.

                            Spoiler alert:

So do you think Bernard actually existed at one point?
I guess we may find out the answer if Theresa comes back as a host.

Also, I guess I'm daft because I'm having a hard time understanding the whole Ford-Board dynamic.

Is it as simple as him killing any board members and replacing them with hosts?
Because it sure seems like Theresa was working with the board to back-up all IP in the case that Ford loses it and destroys all their work.

P.S. I honestly still wasn't convinced that Bernard was a Host. I had my doubts but the one thing I couldn't ignore was in the episode where they suddenly gave Teddy a backstory, they also introduced Bernard's ex-wife and dead child backstory.
It was blatant foreshadowing, but I guess part of me didn't want to believe it.

But now it seems clear what the park is really for and Ford seems to be using the Board's hidden agenda against them.

From episode one, I suspected Bernard was a host. He made a comment then like, "When I first started here..." And it was lacking much detail. To me, I saw it as he didn't even know how long long ago was.

Since then every episode just provided more and more hints such as his backstory being so important when Teddy received his, or Ford always referencing the dead son as if demanding Bernard focus on something new.

Plus Bernard made a lot of jokes about being a host. Side comments like, "maybe it's the way my mind works." "I feel I understand the hosts more than the humans." "It's just part of my technology." Maybe it was subtle but if you already suspected it, it was thrown in your face quite often.

As for did Bernard exist before. I think he did.
