Someone on another board said that binge viewing has made it tough for shows with a slow building narrative to do as well now as weekly show. A lot of people are already crying about "nothing happening".
I've always preferred slow building narratives over explosions and action so this is fine by me.

We are in a binging age especially thanks to Netflix. But I like having a show I can digest and analyze theories of over the course of a week.

I've been listening to weekly podcasts, reading reviews, following threads on reddit. It's been a fun experience for me.

I'm comparing it to Lost though I know that probably scares some people. Despite its flaws, Lost was still an amazing time for me while I was knee deep in it. Haven't had that journey in years.

      I couldn't agree more.
This show has a lot to "teach" us and its not so must slow to me, but educating me.
I am not one that needs for there to be a action scene every two minutes to keep me interested.
And I totally agree about the Lost comparison, Lost is my second favorite series of all time after GOT.

This is my assumption too. With Hopkins being the Matrix-style architect.

The show is sweet. I think Bernard and gang are human but the ai is so advanced that if they give the androids back stories they could probably do whatever they want.

I just knew going into the pit with the shug knight host was a bad idea. Lucky he smashed his head in or he'd have dangled them over the canyon until they signed over their music rights 😀

That's part of their loop I think. They do a set number of things every day, and have AI to adjust their narratives and other things based on other events.

Much like mestevo said. Some hosts are on one day loops, others are on longer loops.

Remember when the bad guy came into town. The writers at Westworld said they were pushing up the story by a week.

There are different narratives and adventures. Dolores's is mostly a simpler one.

Many times the interaction reminds me of a psychiatrist using hypnotherapy on a patient.

I think it will get better as the hosts get to another level and I'm including human-host clinical sessions . This is a multi-season series, right?

EDIT: Heads up-some comments about this show might appear in the Official Android Discussion Thread.
For me the diagnosis scenes are probably my favorite part of the show, but I understand that a lot of people may not care for them. As the show moves forward it's logical that they will inevitably evolve into something else, but if socratic exchanges on the nature of what constituents a sapient being aren't in the show, then, although I'll still watch, the show will have a lower ceiling qualitatively, IMO of course.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

                              I think Ford knows.

He said in this episode that someone from the board is already in the park.

For a guy that states very confidently that he knows everything happening in the park, I think the writers were telling us he knows exactly what the MiB is doing and why.

                              Here's some facts:
It costs a lot of money to go to the park.
Logic dictates it takes a whole lotta monay! to visit the park for 30 years.

                              Who can do that?

How about someone we just discovered owns a foundation?

And people in foundations tend to find themselves as board members of big companies.

Then you add in the piece about the board siding against Ford and Ford unleashing that Hopkins smirk, "not so fast Clarice. A board member is already here and I know everything that happens in this park."

Ford has a big plan. That man in black is more likely a red herring. I think they are working together on whatever it is.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
