This thread is about the TV show. The show is free to be discussed once it's aired.

The comics are well past where the show is at this point which is why it is unfair to spoil it for those who are watching it on TV and haven't read the comics.


Had there been a thread discussing the Walking Dead Comic Book series started you could feel free to discuss it when a new edition is released but to the best of my knowledge I don't think one exists on this site.

Also for those who want comic stuff spoilered then you should spoiler stuff that happens in the show as well.

1. Its not hard to do.
2. I see it as the same rules for the show being aired. If after 24 hours the show can be spoilered on here then the comics should be as well since its a couple of years old.

I for one hate nothing being spoilered. Rather have everythibg spoilered and labled rather than nothing at all but if one doesnt have to than the other shouldnt either.

Yeah that makes no sense. This isn't a thread about the comics, and while the show has deviated, it's not a 100% different storyline so there will obviously be overlap with characters.

And I'm offering my opinion as to why I believe yours is wrong. The comics have no reason to be discussed in here at all because this show is separate from the comics. But if they are, they should be properly spoilered when the discussion is about things that haven't happened in the show.

Candy. This entire forum is about TV or movies unless specified otherwise. I can't remember the last time I saw a discussion regarding a book or a comic.

Do you realize how many movies, shows are based on books or comics? You are the first person to ever make an issue of this very reasonable ask.

And no, the way you stated your post was not as an opinion.



Go through the Lord of the Rings threads or the Game of Thrones thread. You will see every reference from those books spoilered. Those shows sole existence was due to the books, would you have appreciated spoilers in there?

There's a thread for the comics to talk freely about. A couple of us tried by it died down real quick, since no as many people read them, or stay up to date on them. I don't know anyone else here who stays fully up to date on them.

There is no scenario where the happenings of the comics should be freely discussed, there are clearly people here who don't read them, and why spoil it for them. If I don't get my issue of TWD the day it's released I avoid any spoilers of it, and no one is telling me what happened, so I wouldn't want to do that to people who don't read them.

I mean really Candy, how would you have felt if I was a comics reader and you were just starting the show up and I came in and was like, oh Shane will die pretty early on. He tries to attack Rick, then Rick kills him, and then Carl puts him down as a walker. How would you feel if I ruined that for you?

Before I digress, let me say that I have no problems with cliffhangers. It's expected that a show have a cliffhanger in the season finale. Having a cliffhanger is not why the ending sucked. It sucked because of the cliffhanger we got. It changed the narrative of what we're supposed to be looking forward to. Instead of us talking about Negan and how much of a bad@$$ he is and how much trouble the group is in, we're talking about who got killed. The talk is of the victim and not the victor. A much better cliffhanger is having Negan kill the person ON CAMERA (who I totally believe is Eugene) and then having showing everyone's reactions ending with a split screen of Rick terrified and Negan smiling with a bloody Lucille. If that was the ending, the post ending narrative would be about what a monster Negan is and we'd be wondering how Rick and co. is gonna come back at this dude. THAT is the story they should want people wondering about until November. They totally botched it.

Good post. I enjoyed the finale and don't really have a problem with the cliffhanger. But your point is true, I think. Negan was built up big time and now the discussion is gone away from him, somewhat. I do look forward to season 7 to see what happens.

Agreed except that I feel like it has to be Michonne that got done in. Well, her or Glenn but I'm leaning more towards Michonne because they've already teased Glenn's death too much these past couple of seasons. Michonne is almost if not just as loved (by the general viewing audience I mean), is close enough to Rick to really **** up his mental and respected enough by the rest of the group to be made into a great example of why they shouldn't cross this guy but at the same be eager to avenge.

I don't think it's any lady, not Rick, and not Carl. That leaves Abe, Eugene, Glenn, and Daryl. I think Abe is safe because the writers have a gimmick with Abe where finds creative ways to curse (Why are dingleberries brown? Because that's just how sh*t is. We're neck deep up ****s creek with our mouths open. B*tchnuts!). That leaves Daryl, Glenn, and Eugene.

This is why I think it's Eugene. Eugene made up with Abraham, had his hero moment by taking the RV, and gave Rick the bullet recipe. He doesn't have anything left to do so he's expendable. Waiting until S7 to reveal that saves the comic fans from being upset all summer about the change from the comics. 1 week of complaints is better than 6 months of complaints.

If you can't see the difference between the show and the comics, then I suggest you stay away from TWD show threads.

I think my biggest disappointment came with Greg Nicotero directing. He had directed the best episodes this season (imo) so I was holding out hope he'd get the finale, which he did. Needless to say, it left much to be desired.

I'll still keep watching it because I'm a sucker.
