I am still on Comcast pay about 208 a month for tv, internet and cell phone. I know internet is not cheap by its self and price of streaming has gone up. I remember a few years back I think early 2019 when I did a trial for Youtube tv at the time it was $40 a month. Now it's 65 a month. I was going to get a 4k box from Comcast several months back but they didn't have any in stock at the moment. I think there is very little that is in 4k any way but the box you can upgrade to for free. I heard YouTube tv now has some kind of 4k option but that you have to pay an extra $15 a month for the 4k bring things up to 80. How much does YouTube tv have that is in 4k? Sucks that after like 10 years of 4k being a thing that cable/sat is basically still 1080. Like are you able to watch nbc, fox, cbs, TNT, ESPN to watch nfl games and nba games in 4k?

Re: Cord cutting
I'm sure there will be many more disputes to come. These media companies want to get as much money as possible, particularly for live sports, and streaming services want to spend as little as possible because they continue to search for the right subscriber#/price-per-month equation.Comment

Not much in 4K and despite what the videophiles say good luck telling much difference between that and 1080p.I am still on Comcast pay about 208 a month for tv, internet and cell phone. Re: Cord cutting
October seemed like a good month to cash in the 4K trial on YTTV. The first weekend was pretty disappointing with so little 4K sports content. I figured the main ESPN games Saturday and SNF would be 4K, but they weren't. Did get to watch some of Michigan-Wisconsin and Cincinnati-Notre Dame in 4K.
Definitely not worth the full $20. And I'm doubtful I'll stay on even at the $10 promo price when the trial ends.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
College football has been pretty good in 4K. But other then that it's a small amount of content. That price point (even the $10 promo) is pretty steep for such a small amount of content. I guess if you had Saturday's off, loved college football, and watched all the available college football 4K games (usually 2-4) it might be worth it [emoji1745]October seemed like a good month to cash in the 4K trial on YTTV. Re: Cord cutting
If you get a nice and big (over 55") 4K TV you can definitely tell the difference. HDR is even more game changing then 4K to be honest. Now not all 4K content is created equal. A 4K Bluray is way better then a 4K stream for Netflix or Disney+. The bitrate is way higher in the disk.

wait what? I was under the impression that the OTA channels will not be outputting in 4k for the foreseeable future and the cable companies only show what the OTA networks feed them, but YTTV had those games in 4k?
how is that possible?
I stream through Spectrum and the local channels are only 1080i at bestWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Cord cutting
It's not possible. FOX has a bunch of stuff in 4k but it's not always real 4k and is upconverted. ESPN has the 3:30PM Saturday games in 4k but there aren't any 4k NFL games until later in the season.wait what? Streaming most likely is upconverting it at the source instead of letting your TV do it. The only exception is most TV shows are using 4k cameras so they could be providing some shows directly to them but doubtful as the locals want add money.

Re: Cord cutting
I had youtube TV for 2 years now to go with my HBO max and my Fios 1gb connection. I just cancelled this month and just went back to Fios TV, I'm paying the same amount, doesn't make sense to keep youtube TV anymore. PLus living in NY I don't get MSG anything, I'm Knicks and Islanders fan and had to try to watch other ways, I got so tired of that.

Re: Cord cutting
Man, I hear you loud and clear. I live 6 hours from Denver on the other side of the state, but blacked out of Rockies and Avs games. I just haven't made the jump back to Dish, where I would get everything and only paying just a little more. I'm being stubborn right now trying to make it happen, but my stubbornness is waning.I had youtube TV for 2 years now to go with my HBO max and my Fios 1gb connection.
