It's not. Streaming is still behind. I don't know how they are producing games now but the local stations were always the closest to live. Then NFLST as it was the national stream, and then the local station on SAT or cable. MLB, NBA, NHL were different as the teams provide the production for their partnered station.

Your TV providers will add some time versus local OTA station as they have to get the data. National stations can send the data at once to all the providers and internet at once. Local stations have to take the national feeds and then add whatever they need to and send it to the providers from their unlink.

So games on national stations could potentially be close to live to stream, but you still need to wait for the data to be encoded, uploaded, downloaded, and decrypted. Anything going through the local stations will be slower.

You will even have out of sync devices if you try to stream on multiple devices on the same wifi.

Yeah I had the only goal in the champions league final spoiled like a minute before seeing it on TV.

Then I remembered it was on main CBS and I switched to antenna.

Going to have to call Comcast again and see if my tv/internet bill can be lowered. My bill just went up another $16 today and has went up like 45 just this year. I am now paying 224 a month for tv and internet.

Currently paying Spectrum $120 a month for internet and a land line phone. YTTV is now $76 a month. Not that long ago this package cost me less than $150 combined.

Exactly! With each of these streaming services, you're sacrificing this or that. My FUBO bill is $107.54 ($84 for Elite plan, $13.99 for regional sports fee, and taxes). I am not seeing an advantage of cordcutting anymore.

For me I was spending right around $250 for Directv as I had 4 boxes and HBO, now I am on YouTube TV and paying maybe $100 when factoring in the 4k add on and HBO so the savings is definitely there but it'll be different for everyone.

Finally did it, cut Comcast TV and went with the 800mbs down Xfi Complete for 107 total each month. We're saving 80 dollars a month. 80 a month is a big help especially with other bills increasing.

What plan did you have? Mine is <$120 with 3 boxes, no premiums though. I have $60 off each month and just have to renew it each year.

They really should give you that if you are a long time customer. If they stop giving me that, I'll move to streaming DTV that is around $100.

                    Re: Cord cutting

Since moving to NC I have had Spectrum/Comcast on and off. I had a 2 year promo for internet/phone cost around 80 bucks but since the promo ended I am paying 120 bucks a month.
They are in the process of installing Google in the neighborhood but it is slow going. So it's not in yet but I am seriously considering it. The cost for 1g is 80 bucks with the phone and is enough for me I don't work from home and the speed even after the free Spectrum upgrade to 500 is double. The cost supposedly for Fiber is $70 plus 10 bucks for the landline phone.
I get 80 down and 20 up with Spectrum not bad but not great and the latency is 27 ms. Anyone have Google Fiber and if you do what has been your experience?

I don't have Google but 1gig is plenty for most homes. With At&t, I got some crazy offer so getting theirs cheap. I can stream on the TV, be on 2 online meetings, and others using tablets or laptops. I have a great router, so I never have problems, but if you have a cheap one you may not even take advantage of the 1gig speed.

Once you are over 300mb or so you start running into server limits. That is, other people's servers you are trying to connect to aren't going to give more bandwidth to a single user. It helps with extra people in your house and multiple connections connections to get around the server limits.

You definitely would save money. Wife and I have an empty nest now and would only need the main receiver; those extra units sure add up, been there.

Not sure the name, maybe Premium? It was the second highest package as it included channels the kids wanted that weren't included on the lower packages. I was getting $40 off per month dropping it to approx $210 but I'm tired of playing the game to get discounts and once they lost Sunday Ticket that was it for me.

I have Google fiber and love it. I end up paying $72.13 a month after taxes and my entire house seems to be hooked up to it between numerous tablets, laptops, desktop, tv's, gaming systems, Alexa, home security etc and never have issues. If you can get it I'd get it in a heartbeat, having experienced Comcast and Spectrum for internet they don't even compare.

So end up getting rid of cable the other day with Comcast because I was paying 224 a month with internet and cable and it had went up 45 just this year. Now I still have internet with Comcast that is 93 a month and they also increased my internet speed from 400 to 800 mbps. Doing YouTube tv now at 73. So with internet and tv I will be paying like 166 a month instead of 224. So like 58 less. I can also like turn off YouTube tv for like 2-3 months of the year. I don't really watch tv in summer with no nba, NFL and NHL. I play a lot more video games in summer time because of lack of sports don't really care much for MLB. I just got a new like modem from Comcast today because they said the one I had couldn't go above 500 speed. I am not getting 800 though not even really close to it. I was able to get 700 with a wired connection and like 500-550 without. But yeah good to save 50+ a month. Hopefully YouTube tv with slow down its price increase I remember around 2019 it was like 35 a month compared to the now 73. With internet and streaming its still not cheap.

even though it still looks like OTA 4K broadcasts aren't coming soon, these ATSC 3.0 extended distance signals are promising, I have like 50 OTA channels but most aren't good quality, would love to pick up more, especially if it means my regular glitchy signals are clear
