Good read from The Ringer about the people who were in their last layoffs. Some found work while others are still looking for work:

In April, around 100 employees of the Worldwide Leader in Sports were laid off. Since leaving the mothership, some have found new work, new homes, and new careers—while others are still searching for their next chapter.

            Regarding the above article...
Call me prude or non-emotional, but I don't really care about the "high profile" names and how they are "post-layoff."

One sentence in that article really does it for me "... getting paid until 2019 to NOT be on Television."
Okay. So you're getting paid through your contract, to NOT work. Now we are writing articles about you, catching up with you and making sure you're surviving okay? You ALSO, get to move out of Connecticut? Sounds like a win to me.

What the article, and people, should be focusing on is the behind the scenes crew who get laid off without any notice. Those are the jobs that are hard to find, and I am pretty positive you don't get any "pay as long as you don't produce radio/tv until 2019" deals (though I could be wrong)

Wasn't sure where to post this so I'll put it here but with Disney's acquisition of Fox, this also means that ESPN will be acquiring some of Fox Sports' Regional Networks as well:

They are all part of the acquisition and from what I read it sounds like they will be rebranded.

Because Disney just didn’t own enough stuff. I’ll be pissed if they mess with Fox Sports Southwest besides a name change.

I'm fine with a rename of ESPN Atlanta, but if they remove the local feel and homer announcers it will kill the channels. I don't see them adding on all that extra payroll so that scares me

Oh I don't see anything like that happening. Probably just a new scorebug and branding.

Couldn't imagine any personalities or current practices in place being changed.

This feels like an uppercut to fox sports, ESPN nabbed the best part of fox sports so now all they have is a bunch of former ESPN employees doing a bunch of ESPN things, only worse.

This just made Fox coverage of the World Series worse.

Also Skip Bayless works for the Mouse again. Anyone that skipped ESPN on bad terms that moved to Fox? Because that's going to be awkward.
