Hasn’t stopped him from speaking on a subject before though.

I know that. If I were someone working at ESPN, you'd have to keep me as far away from college sports as possible for the same reason.

My point isn't really about Stephen A. regarding that as it is the current nature of ESPN: it's not that they pick people who just so happen to not know much about baseball, it's that their programs don't revolve about baseball, period.

I've heard Jessica Mendoza may be gone from the baseball broadcast. Please God let this be true.

Is it because of her comments about Mike Fiers coming forward?

            Re: ESPN Cleaning House

I don't watch any of these shows outside of maybe reading some closed captions while doing cardio at the gym. Max Kellerman sucks though.

The best thing about Stephen A. is the memes. I don't mind him because I respect the hustle and shtick/gimmick. Same with some other guys on other networks like Skip Bayless or Shannon Sharpe. They have a role to play and do it well.. their job is to be loud and sometimes controversial.

What ESPN has started doing that I noticed and needs to continue doing is push Marcus Spears. He's great television and does a good job on the SEC show on Saturdays. He carries Greg McElroy on their show too.

Even though these guys have a life that revolves around sports they can't truly consume enough of EVERYTHING to have a legitimate opinion about every single sport. You can always tell when a guy is out of his element and is just giving an opinion for the hell of it. I get that feeling with a lot of these guys when they start discussing CFB.

I like Kellerman mostly for His boxing analysis.

As for his role as a general sports talking head I’ve never seen anybody rehash points as much as he does.

I wonder if that might be part of it. But I don't know the real reason. It's more rumors then anything.

Spears is effing fantastic. He could permanently replace Finebaum easily and not miss a beat.

I actually didn't mind Kellerman and Kenny do their radio show in New York a few years back. Kellerman is a boxing guy and does a good job with that. Outside of that he is out of his element.

Skip Bayless' contract with Fox Sports expires this year, I've heard ESPN wants him back and there may be a bidding war.

                          Bayless is the absolute worst.

I also don't like that I've never ever heard him utter anything baseball related outside of the current sign-stealing scandal, but that's the nature of the TV side of ESPN right now anyway.

Needless to say, he's good at what he does.
That's how I feel about Stugotz, he's only great when Le Batard keeps him in check. When you let him be in full control he's annoying, and this is coming from someone who gets the show
