For me it's Maris, because he was the closest to a regular sized guy when he got his 61. I imagine Judge is clean, but he's also 6'7" and over 250. It's like, in basketball, you're going to appreciate a 6'1" player's dunks more than a 6'9" guy because it was more of a challenge for the smaller guy.

I lean that way too. Steroids or not, you still have to stand there in the batters box and deliver. And baseball can be such a mind**** with all the in-between time of sitting and thinking and overthinking. No one can convince me that that 1998 season from Sosa and McGwire wasn't legit amazing.

1998 season hasn't really aged well.

Dunno about that. I would like to see Judge break the record in 154 or less. I don't mind throwing the juicers into the HOF but I feel different about records. Maris still the legit King.

Not sure if there's a post elsewhere (kind of a topic that doesn't fit in one spot).

50-100 of ESPN talent getting let go in a big downsizing....

Jayson Stark, Trent Dilfer, Danny Kanell, Ed Werder, lots of talent going away...crazy!

After a 98-yard drive against the mighty Texans, Booger McFarland argues that Dak should be put right up there with Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow. Why did he say such a thing??

Not sure, but I still circle back to the Ravens' SB win over the 49ers and Joe Flacco saying that he should be paid and treated like an elite QB.

I still find that hilarious, but also sad that the Niners couldn't pull through on that goal line drive from the 7-yard line.

As non-elite as Flacco was he still put together one of the better and clutch NFL playoff runs in league history including toppling heavy favorites Denver and New England. Dak has not whiffed that kind of success. I don't know what got into Joe; it was the best 4-game run of his career. Props also have to go to Anquan Boldin and the defense.

I find it hilarious that Dak got how much in one year ($75 M) for advancing how far in the playoffs?

This is old news (three weeks) but news to me. Bill Cowher lambasted both Irsay and Jeff Saturday upon the latter's very good fortune.

                              <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WhI0tc9np90" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

My major takeaway is that Saturday turned down Indy assistant coaching positions to do TV and have more time with his family. Rejecting those jobs but jumping at the head coaching chance makes him look like a shortcutter. ESPN's Rex Ryan didn't hold back on criticism of his former colleague either. Now Jeff is making excuses for his 1-7 start and is salivating at the opportunity for a continuance.

I've never seen Broadcaster Cowher that irate.

                                Re: ESPN Cleaning House

I wish ESPN would move Stephen A. from First Take and put him in his proper place in MNF as the long-awaited spiritual successor to Howard Cosell.

Aikman makes for an adequate facsimile for Dandy Don, but Joe Buck will never be mistaken for Keith Jackson or even Al Michaels for that matter, but it'll be a loong while before anyone is Jackson or Michaels equal, so I guess it might as well be Buck

MNF deserves to be on broadcast tv (and should have been there for the last 16 years)

anyway, Stephen A. combined with Aikman might just be the thing MNF needs to return to former glory days

or maybe even better, Peyton Manning replace Aikman, and let Stephen A. square off with Manning
