        Re: Avengers: End Game

I enjoyed the Endgame. Truthfully though, I liked it more as a culmination of the last ten years than I did as an individual movie. I'd put Infinity War and Civil War easily ahead of this one as a movie. There was a lot of fan service though, and I guess that's what they were going for. It has been a fun ride, Marvel.

                    Re: Avengers: End Game

I'll post more thoughts later in spoilers (and maybe you're all talking about it), but I got to drive for a couple of hours today and the whole time I was reliving the entire film... and if I'm remembering it all correctly, there are just gaping, gaping holes involving the crux of the film's premise. I questioned them while watching the film, and just sat back to confirm them now that I could press rewind with my brain. Some involve the plot itself, some are character idiocies within (or things they didn't consider), and some are just things that didn't flow too greatly from IW to this film, but that's based on how it was written and I'm understanding of it. I want to jump into them and ask them later when I have the time.

For the movie as a whole, if somebody were to ask if I recommend it, I really think it doesn't prove as effectively unless you've seen all 21 movies before it. Not by watching a wrap-up video on YouTube or reading the plots on Wikipedia, but feeling it all out from beginning to end. It's what gave value to the majority of this film. The callbacks, fan servicing, and retreading helped earn the dramatic weight and emotional toll you carry for the hours you spend absorbing everything. Whereas Infinity War could potentially be watched as a standalone by somebody and enjoyed from beginning to end, I think Endgame takes significantly more to do so (EDIT: reading back, what Junior Moe said is how I felt... it's more a ).

That being said, anyone who leaves this movie has the ability to say it was awesome and it rocked... but that's after seeing every bit of it, especially the final act(s). This movie is a testament to the idea that if you end note-****ing-perfect, you will be forgiven for anything that you do before it. Not that there is anything before that you'd be against, but that a movie can go from average to fantastic just based on how it finishes off. This one has the ability to do that for others.

I took in all three hours of this film like a champ and I enjoyed everything that I watched. I just don't know how much I'd enjoy watching the first couple hours a second time again, though. I'll see if the rewatch holds up by catching the next viewing in 3D or IMAX, but I'm not ready to jump out and get the Blu-ray like I was for IW purely on a rewatch basis alone.

Oh, and I have a character identification question. It was bugging the people next to and behind me as well, and I cracked up inside thinking the entire audience was with me, clouded by complete uncertainty.

                              I hope it beats Avatar.

That’s the one thing I’m rooting for but that’s probably because I thought that movie was just ok.

And where are all the negative reviews at from folks here? That’s what I’m waiting on.

I don't there can really be negative reviews, maybe not good ones.

I know someone in here posted about not really feeling it. I thought it was pretty meh and walked away feeling disappointed. That being said, is was still a good movie.
