You going to play through the game before using it?

I'm not gonna get the guide. I want to explore the game for myself. But that's just me.

Me too. I might pick it up after I play through the game a couple times. I like the "surprise" when I find/locate things in the games.

Yeah. I remember when I found the sunken viking ship/viking warrior burial in Morrowind after going for what felt like hours of catacombs. Finding all that treasure was so cool.

I haven't read any of the main quest at all, I just wanted the info on the classes, races, birthsigns, etc.

Guides are for losers. Gotta explore on your own.

Normally I would personally attack you for saying something like this, BUT TODAY IS ELDER SCROLLS DAY!

I really hope this game doesn't turn out like Morrowind where after enough levels you become almost invincible - and I hope there are some more uses for the items in the game. It got boring in Morrowind collecting all these cool things - and the only thing I could do was either look at them or sell them.

Should be a great game though - hopefully I'll have a computer capable of running it within a year after it's out.

Yea, i hated the fact that some items were worth 500,000 bucks but no shop keeper had that amount of money. The highest you could get was 50,000 from the Scamp in Caldera. I'd sell an item, go to sleep(in a home in which I killed the owner) and go back the next day to get 50,000 more for other high priced items.

As for the invinciple part, once I got ultra powerfull with my long sword, I'd just practice another skill and force myself to that. It helped keep it fun.

Also, there are a few ppl on gamefaqs with the game and lots are reporting that they're GS or EB said they can pick it up today. Here's hoping for today.

I always liked that because it made it harder to earn money. Also, Morrowind never really seemed like the type of place where shopkeepers would be wealthy enough to buy those items.

Did'nt really bother me, it just did'nt make sense to have items in the game that were basically worthless. Once I got rich, say about 40,000 bucks or so, I never went broke again. I'd throw bribe money at any and everyone.

I always used the same merchants in Balmora to sell everything I found. The marks on my transport spell was usually right at Meldor's counter so I couls cast ans sell to him even if I was overweighted. That way I also knew where it was if I needed it later. Plus it was cool because if I wanted to trade in the 500000gp item for smaller items totaling 500000gp they always had enough stuff on hand to do it. Then I could sell the smaller stuff back over a few days.

I think its hard for them to not allow you to get overpowerful when the game is so open and there are so many sidequests. Perhaps the alternatives are worse. Part of the fun in the openness is that you can do whatever quests that you want. If you do EVERYTHING you end up powerful. You have to be tough enough to beat the main quest after doing the main quest and little else along the way. Not everyone wants to do all the side quests. It would bother me more if enemy's got tougher just because you did. If a crab has 300 HP just because I am level 70 then I would hate that. Also, if they capped the level that you could obtain at a level just tough enough to beat the main quest boss I'd hate that as well. Part of the reason to do all the side quests is to gain experience and artifacts.
