Re: Official 360 Problems
My condolences, Sully. Myself, as well as everyone else who have lost their loved ones in the last few months feel your pain....LOL. Hope you get your replacement back quickly.
I strongly recommend everyone buy an extended warranty on this thing. It seems like even those of us who are already on our replacement units are still going to be walking on egg shells every time we turn it on, even if it is working fine now. The consoles can go from working perfectly to completely dead at the flip of a switch. This is definitely a bigger problem than Microsoft is wanting to admit.Comment

Like Microsoft said, it's probably less than 3% of all units that are having problems. That's about par for the course when it comes to electronics.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
Sorry about your bad luck Sully. Hope you get your replacement console soon. Did you get the MS warranty? Because if you got your console at launch, the 90 day manufactor's warranty is damn near up (as I'm sure your aware of). Gosh, hard to believe the console been out nearly three months, where does the time go? Anyway, good luck Sully. Godspeed to your replacement console getting to you.How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.Comment

Originally posted by SportsorDeathIf the store you bought it from has more, I don't see why they wouldn't let you exchange it. Are you sure that your son's didn't have anything rattling too? I know my first one for sure made a little rattling noise when I unpacked it on launch day. I did have to send that one in for replacement, but I don't think it was related to the rattle. I can't remember if my replacement rattled or not.
I have heard a lot of people mention that the rattling noise is normal, and that it is just the ball bearing inside that is there to tell if you have your system placed horizontally or vertically so that it can rotate the ring of light to reflect based on its orientation.
If you aren't comfortable with it, just take it back or send it in to Microsoft-it's that simple. You paid 400 bucks for it, so you shouldn't have to worry in the back of your mind every time you fire it up.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
I purchased mine from TRU, and got the one year warranty from them. I should try calling them tomorrow to see if they have any in stock to replace mine. I'm sure it's not as easy as it sounds...it never is. I'm content waiting on MS to take care of me.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
I have had mine for about a week and a half with no problems. Today while playing PD0 I had a dirty disc error..ok..no big deal..then a few hours later...it starts freezing. No it takes a good 6-10 seconds for the 360 to start when I hit the power button. What gives?DON'T PANICComment

Re: Official 360 Problems
Dang Spongedaddy, that sucks. Hopefully it's nothing major... but regardless, I'd call MS and check it out anyway. It may suck being without your 360 for a few days, but I think in the end it'll be worth it.
In addition, I'd suggest everyone get the $59 2 year warranty from MS... even if you have one from the store you purchased your 360 from... It'll be worth it in the long run.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official 360 Problems
Thanks, This is my third 360. I purchased two in Jan and had overheating issues and figured I would wait for a new batch. This 360 is newer and I am still having problems. I am a bit upset and don't know what I will do. I really love it but this (to me) is B.S.DON'T PANICComment
