Re: Official 360 Problems
Well, Im' shipping mine out tomorrow... much to my horror. I'm hoping I get back a new system. I'm keeping my HD though. On the paper from the box it says detach all accessories, so I am, lol. If they need it, I'll send it. If not, I hope I get a new HD as well.
Anyway, I'm nervous that I'll get a refurb, but hey, I can't continue playing the game that keeps on freezing. I can't get past the 2nd quarter on NBA Live without freezing.... it happens on every freakin game too. Not just Live.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official 360 Problems
I've been getting still pictures instead of highlights for halftime for three weeks now on nba2k6. I even deleted a lot of files yet it still doesn't help. I just bought chaos theory and it won't load. I thought it could of been because it was preplayed so i went to blockbuster and rented it and it stops loading at the same point. I'm pissed. I don't know if its the hardware or from the downloaded content. Anyone else with similar problems or suggestions.Comment

Originally posted by jjoeGood for you!! I've been hearing a lot of people at team xbox who have received refurb units. One person said the unit he received contained scratches and a build date of 10/17. He also received his yesterday. It's unfair to be receiving a refurb. Either they repair your existing unit or replace it with a new one because you paid full price, not for a refurb.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
I got a refurbished unit back yesterday and finally had enough when it died right away when I turned it on. I returned it today to costco and got my money back. I'm done with the 360 until they get everything fixed. I had an original xbox since its launch and that never gave me one problem, so I still have some hope that microsoft will get it right eventually, and until then, I'll wait.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
I got two 360s today, one for my son (who had saved up his birthday money) and one for me. My son's is perfect, no problems. Late tonight, I finally got around to unpackaging mine and hooking it up. Immediately when I pulled it out of the box, I could hear something loose rattling inside. Not good. I debated putting it right back in the box, but decided to hook it up and see what was up. I played a bit of Kameo (it came bundled with it) and part of a DVD. Everything played just fine. Now I don't know what to do; should I try to exchange it, if the store has any left? I am not even sure they will let me. Or should I keep it since it seems to play just fine? Like I said, there is definitely something loose rattling around inside the case. I am really bummed that I laid out all of this money and there seems to be a problem right out of the box. Any recommendations? What would you do if you were me?NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Re: Official 360 Problems
If the store you bought it from has more, I don't see why they wouldn't let you exchange it. Are you sure that your son's didn't have anything rattling too? I know my first one for sure made a little rattling noise when I unpacked it on launch day. I did have to send that one in for replacement, but I don't think it was related to the rattle. I can't remember if my replacement rattled or not.
I have heard a lot of people mention that the rattling noise is normal, and that it is just the ball bearing inside that is there to tell if you have your system placed horizontally or vertically so that it can rotate the ring of light to reflect based on its orientation.
If you aren't comfortable with it, just take it back or send it in to Microsoft-it's that simple. You paid 400 bucks for it, so you shouldn't have to worry in the back of your mind every time you fire it up.Comment
