 Re: Official 360 Problems

I thought it was the TV at first, but the TV works fine. My HD stations work on the other HD (component) hookup. Plus, I switched the component (put teh 360 on the other component hookup) after this problem and the HD TV was fine, but the 360 screwed up again. I played yesterday without a problem. This is weird. Oh well, at least I have a 1-year warranty on it and I will get a new one if this problem persists.Originally posted by LionsFan20I believe if your system is having a A/V problem it will trigger the red lights, maybe there is something wrong with the T.V.Comment

 Re: Official 360 Problems

Hopefully that means Microsoft is getting the problems ironed out. I am still a little concerned; my son and I each got 360's and while mine was manufactured in January of this year, his was made in October 2005, so I guess that is an original launch unit. No problems so far (and he plays that thing for hours and hours) so I will just keep my fingers crossed, for both of ours.Originally posted by candyman56Yes it did.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

 Re: Official 360 Problems

You have to give Micrsoft credit for taking care of there customers. Goodbye last gen hello to the generation that makes you say damn that looks real.Originally posted by jetsfansiny79I am starting this topic not to start drama about false complaints about defective 360's. It purpose is to understand and help each other out who are having real 360 hardware problems and what is the process of sending it back. My 360 was sent out Monday and arrived at the Repair center Tuesday at noon. I was first told it would take 3 business days then today I was told up to 8 days. Hopefully It will get back soon b/c I miss playing it.The error my 360 was giving, is disc read error on both of my games (Nba 2k6 & Madden). Madden gave me a weird message saying match the country of the disc with the country of the system and dirty disc error. My games are in perfect condition. I did take every step in troubleshhoting my 360, by moving the power supply and the system to open ventalited areas, but with no luck.

 Here some Info

 1. Call 1-800 4myxbox
 2. Talk to customer service
 3. Customer service tries to trouble shoot the problem.
 4. If trouble shooting doesn't work, a replacement box will be sent to you the next day.
 5. Get your replacement box the next day. Comes with instructions how to pack it and send it back.

Address. Only copy below if you already talk to xbox customer service.

 Repair Center
 5700 Intl. Pkwy, Suite A Dock 18
 McAllen TX 78503

 6. Not Offical get your system back anywhere from 3 to 8 business days.
 7. Track your package threw DHL with the tracking # provided by xbox. It will confirm when you package arrived. It will also tell you when the 360 will be sent back of course when M.S is done fixing it. If you are curious you can call the Xbox number.

If any of you guys are having problems explain them here so we can help each other out.Gametag JetsfanSINY79Comment

 Re: Official 360 Problems

Hate to revive this thread especially under the circumstances, but my launch 360 just died. I just got College Hoops and was pumped to play it, I load it up, see the intro scene, and the game freezes. I shut off the box, turn it back on, and I get three red rings signaling an "internal problem." Luckily I have the Gamestop warranty. Has anyone else used this warranty and is it a hassle? Bummer. I feel for ya, especially after just buying a new game that you didn't even get a chance to play.Originally posted by Drag66Hate to revive this thread especially under the circumstances, but my launch 360 just died. Are you sure the cables are in the right place. I remember a couple of weeks ago i moved my 360 to another room and I got the three red lights. I was like not agian and it was b/c I didn't have the cable plugged in right. But if the game froze then you probaly have a defect.Gametag JetsfanSINY79Comment

 Re: Official 360 Problems

Yeah, I checked the cables and they are in the right place. This sucks, but what can you do. I just hope that I can exchange my 360 for another at Gamestop without any hassle. The problem is that most Gamestops around me have no 360's at the present time. Hopefully, they will just give me the cash (as said on the warranty I bought).Originally posted by jetsfansiny79Are you sure the cables are in the right place. I don't know what the warranty says, but I'm almost 100% that they will NOT give you your money back, they will tell you, that you will beable to exchange when they get some in. You should have went with the MS warrany instead.Originally posted by Drag66Yeah, I checked the cables and they are in the right place. This sucks, but what can you do. Re: Official 360 Problems

While playing Tiger Woods today the system froze up and gave me a dirty disc error. I restarted it and it seemingly played OK (only played another quick 9 hole game). Is this the start of the about to die on me syndrom? I have a EB warranty so not too worried but would rather not have to do deal with it all. Just hopping it is a one time quirk.Comment

 Re: Official 360 Problems

Well, they gave me store credit for the full purchase price and tax (because they had no 360s of course). Plus, they said they would call me when they get their next 360 shipment comes in (March 22nd) and that they would hold one for me. It sucks, but at least I have the opportunity to try to find a 360 elsewhere in the meantime. And if I do find one elsewhere, I have $430 store credit for games.Originally posted by FootballForeverI don't know what the warranty says, but I'm almost 100% that they will NOT give you your money back, they will tell you, that you will beable to exchange when they get some in. Jt, when mine froze, I tried to boot it up again and that's when it broke. It just failed to load up again and then the red lights began blinking. Seems your situation is different.Comment
