I remember those days. I got a Playstation and a 13" TV for Christmas the first year the PSX was out and I was saddened to see that I couldn't play it on my TV right out of the box. RF switches/modulators suck for picture quality, but they should be pretty cheap.

Re: Official 360 Problems
Well now my 360 just freezes everytime I play, on every game. I've tried NCAA, GRAW, and even Half Life 2 just to check.
I'll be contacting MS.
EDIT: It says on the MS support website that you should make sure that your system is set to the right date and time. Mine wasn't, but what would that have to do with my system freezing???Last edited by heelsman22; 08-11-2006, 06:05 PM.Comment

OT ..but your Avatar cracks me up.
Now it's back to 3 flashing red lights. It's dead.

I now stand corrected. There is no way in hell Microsoft can claim only a less than 5% defect rate it's gotta be way higher than that. My buddies 360 died last week.Comment

Out of curiosity(sp) when you hooked everything back up, did you also try WITHOUT the intercooler? I apologize if this was asked before ( haven't followed all the posts)
The reason I ask...is I've heard of folks in the same situation, and after removing the intercooler and hooking everything back up their 360 worked fine.
It may be a reach, but I would make the reach just to be sure. One thing to remember also...the 360 cord is VERY heavy, and the slightest angle could cause it to become loose from the intercooler,(happened to me).
Good luck, and hope you can get her working againPeople are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

And I agree about the 5% defect rate. My brother's 360 has been acting up too. And it's not like I have a launch system or anything, I got it in April. My regular XBOX runs way smoother than both of the 360's in my family.Last edited by heelsman22; 08-12-2006, 05:37 PM.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
Son of a BITCH.
I just attempted to turn on my 360, and it miraculously worked!!!
that is until I turned it off, tried to put the Intercooler back on(yea, i know i'm dumb) and proceeded to get the 3 red lights...AGAIN.
I took it back off, still got the red lights, but I'll let it rest a while before trying again.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
Kaboom.
Coffin is arriving within 3 business days.
I've been receiving unreadable disk errors with NCAA every game and sometimes very quickly, especially today. So, I tried some other disks like MLB, Oblivian, and Kameo. I'd receive a logo from xbox and a message, can't read disk, please put disk in 360 console and then repeating that message in several other messages.
So, I called the 800# and I didn't really want to troubleshoot with him. So, I agreed to one test. Put in the original game, then put in 3 different games, then the original again without the HD. NCAA unreadable disk error, Kameo and MLB the above message, and then Oblivian unreadable disk error. That convinced him that it's receiving repairs or replacement.
Total time out- 2.5 weeks.
The console has a born on date of Jan 6th and I bought it Feb 1st and bought the 2 year warranty. Whew.
I just wish I bought the warranty in the store. I could then swap out a system right away.
No 3 red lights, just the disk drive isn't working.
I hope they replace the disk drive with an Hitachii.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
Well apparently I'm lucky that I opted not to buy a warranty of any kind. MS is fixing my 360 for free, the box should be here in a few days.
I was confused at first because i bought the system in April, so the 90 day warranty was up, but the guy I talked to said they would still fix it for free.
Oh, and on another note, the guy I talked to also said that his 360 crapped out on him too, so I think it's pretty darn obvious this problem is more widespread than most think.Comment

Just recently, I've been receiving the unreadable disc errors and much more frequently. I tried to put in CH last night and it froze right in the beginning of the game twice in a row. Didn't even get to tip off. I put in Oblivion as well and received the unreadable disc error.
I could hear the disc drive clicking trying to read the disc today. I couldn't get into any game today. Just kept getting unreadable disc errors or the MS logo with unabale to read your disk, please place your disc in a 360 console.Comment
