    Re: Official 360 Problems

I'm gonna be very interested to see if this is my same console or a new replacement console. Gonna check the serial number first thing. I would feel better if it was a new replacement console, but hey, as long as it works. I checked the tracking number again, and it's listed as departing origin from Texas. Hopefully I'll have it by the day after tommorrow (Thursday). It would be nice because I'm leaving for VA Friday morning. But seeing as it's gonna take two trips to move all my stuff down there (I'm renting a UHAUL truck for 3 days) Friday or Saturday would be ok as well. It only took 2 and 1/2 days to get it shipped down there, so that seems like a reasonable time table. Just glad to finally be getting it back. What truly confuses the hell out of me is the vast variety of responses I got from reps and supervisors. One tells me my console is no where to be found, the next one tells me it's repaired and ready to go with a tracking number. I don't get, probably never will. Once I get it back, I'm sending in the paper work and money for the MS warrenty. My manufactur's expires in early March. The maximum is a 3 year warrenty for about 70 bones. I'm gonna get that one, and have a little peace of mind. Hopefully I don't ever have to send it out again, and if I have to it'll get back to me in a more timely fashion. Anyway, can't wait to start playing NBA2K6, PGR3, and COD2 again. Not to mention Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion in March, that game is gonna be sick!

I called on the 30th to have them ship me a return box. It came today, and before packing it up, I called them just to double check exactly what I needed to include, since the paper slip said "no accessories". I am not sending my hard drive with it only to be wiped out if I don't have to.

The guy on the phone goes over the issue I had, then gets back on the line and informs me that the original rep who wrote the work order made some mistakes. Apparently, I need to send in the console itself and the power supply, but no hard drive. He said the box that was sent to me was not the correct size for this, so he put in another work order for a larger box to be delivered on Thursday morning. Hopefully that is just a hiccup and not a sign of annoyances to come.

Good luck man. I only shipped out the console itself, that's all that would fit in the box.

This is getting scary. I now wish I would have bought the warranty from Best Buy. DOH.

So just get the extended warranty from Microsoft. I think it's $70 for 3 years or something like that. That Best Buy extended warranty may have helped you a year or two down the road, but right now it wouldn't make a bit of difference. If they have no consoles to swap it out for, it doesn't matter.

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN! DHL just dropped it off, never imagined I'd get it today. Gonna let it warm up to room temperature first. It's a new replacement console, checked the serial number and it's a different one. I was also pleasently surprised to find that along with a new console, I also recieved...

              -New Hard Drive
              -New AV Cables
              -New Power Supply Unit
-New Wireless Controller w/ Rechargeable Battery Pack
              -New Headset
              -New DVD Remote

Needless to say, I'm one happy SOB right now. Finally the nightmare is over and I can put this behind me. Gonna send in the paper for the 3 year MS extended warrenty today. To anybody who sent out their 360s for service I wish you luck, and hopefully nobody has to got through what I did. See you on Live soon GIGGAS. Peace.

I did buy the MS one......2 yrs for $60.

Reading here that some people systems have been w/ MS for 3-4 weeks is not good.

Like I said, the big issue is that they are up to their eyeballs with defective consoles, and that is straight from the horses' mouth. The holidays obviously slowed them down as well. I'll admit, I probably was a little impatient. But those 3 weeks for me seemed like three months. Glad it's all over.

Wow, so you now have duplicates of everything? That's pretty damn sweet, especially the extra wireless controller. I hope I also get all that extra stuff with mine when it comes, just so I can take the extra power supply and set of component cables and keep them plugged into the HDTV downstairs so I can easily move my console back and forth.

Glad you finally got it back, man! Go download the new Fight Night demo!
