yeah but, I have the MS warranty and I'm covered for 2 years, if my system breaks down and they have to replace it, I don't have to pay for another warranty, my system is covered until 2008. Are you telling me when you buy the Gamestop warranty and you system fails, and they replaced your system, you have to buy another warranty because they replaced it? If so thats not saying money nor cheaper then the MS warranty, I paid $60 for 2 years. and the Gamestop warranty is like 40 for one year, you think it's still cheaper.

I have a launch system and knock on wood everything is okay. I sent the extended warranty out right away when I made the purchase and I just recieved the service contract in the mail yesterday, lol. It says I am covered until March of 08. I hope I will not need it!!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

And yes, even if I paid $20 more, if my system breaks, like it did Wednesday, I had a BRAND new system, new controller, new headset, new powerbrick all hooked up 45 minutes later.
If your system dies, you wait for the box, you send back the system, and in 7-10 more days you get back a refurbished system.
I think it was either TJ or Holic that have had 1 or 2 refurb's go bad because they were launch systems when they were returned.

Well, you bought the system in 2005, which means you are covered through 2007.

Re: Official 360 Problems
There is no systemic issue with Xbox 360. Each incident is unique and these customer inquires are being handled on a case-by-case basis.
MS has a problem and anyone contemplating purchasing a 360 should get the warranty or wait until summer of 2007 when the newer model is out and buy one then.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
To me you don't do that.. unless you are getting a high volume of calls on that very issue.Comment

If your telling me that everytime your system breaks and return it for a new system, you have to pay for a new warranty each time, you my friend do not have a better deal, I don't care if I had to wait a month my 360 with MS. If my warranty if for a year, I should be able to bring back my system 100 times if it breaks within that year, if you have to pay each time, your getting robbed.Last edited by RoyalBoyle78; 09-08-2006, 11:42 AM.N.Y Mets

Re: Official 360 Problems
no my friend, I'm covered until 2008, thats whats it says on my contract, I send out the warranty when I got the system in 2005, but MS goes by when they send it back to you, my contract expires march 2008.

EDIT - You edited after I posted.
For the first 90 days, I can take my 360 back over and over again. After that, it's like any store warranty, one return and done. Best Buy just changed their warranties to cover multiple returns. It's $40 for the added year. And yes, I would rather pay $40 a year, than send my 360 back to MS, waiting 2-3 weeks for the process, and then get back a dead 360 as what happened to TJ, then going another 2-3 weeks without. My $40 gets me a new system, new controller, new head set, new everything. Your's gets you someone else's used 360 that has been "fixed". Also, I can keep renewing my warranty buy just getting a new system. I don't believe you can renew the MS warranty. If you can, I apologize in advance.
We'll see how you feel about that say your 360 dies when a big game you want comes out.Last edited by ExtremeGamer; 09-08-2006, 12:39 PM.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
Fever, your coverage expires in 2008 because, it's a extended warranty. So it kicks in after 3 months. But Gamestop's warranty kicks in the day of purchase. So MS = 2yrs 3 months. (since you bought a two plan). Which I will also (can't beat it for $50)Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

Ok, that's good then. If my 360 dies, I still have a brand new on in less than an hour

Re: Official 360 Problems
yes you can renew the MS warranty, I did it with my first Xbox, it ran out and then I paid another $50 for 2 more years, you can keep renewing the MS warranty. TJ is one person, you makig it sound like TJ is like 50 people, It may have happened to him and maybe a few other, that doesn't mean it will happen to everyone. You Dwelling on people get used 360 back, that not the case..Thats cool you like the store warranty, and it's cool I like the MS..We have our own like and dislikes, your just making it sound like your warranty is better, thats just your opinion.
But it is the case with getting a used 360 back, I don't know anyone who hasn't got a refurb back from MS.
But if you do renew it, and it's another $60 (it was $60 for 2 years), that's $120. For 4 years with Gamestop, it's $160. Not too much of a difference over 4 years, wouldn't you agree? Granted, we're getting near half the cost of a new one...LOLComment

No, they are both great warranties, I was just answering your original question.
