I have no clue why you think most people won't care about it just because you don't.

So if you don't think you'll buy one based on specualtion so far, why concern yourself further with what those of us excited for the PS3 have expressed?

If they say it's going to rival Xbox Live, than I can't imagine it being free. Ever since I heard about it, I can't stop wondering what they'll charge.

If Sony incorporated a fee for online gaming already into the PS3 price tag, maybe they would give gamers the option to play online for free with a stellar service. It's a long shot, but possible.

I would certainly pay up front (with the system cost) if that allowed for free gaming and the online system was great. Hopefully we'll know a lot more soon.

For the late, there are 360 threads to discuss your problems/games/whatever in. This is the PS3 thread.

YOU brought it up IN THIS THREAD that people that claimed they had no lockups when they really did. If you don't want to discuss it, don't bring it up. But I agree all talk of 360 should be left out of this thread.

I don't believe it will take 10 years, maybe 5. The fact is HDTV's are a hot commodity right now, people are buying them. They are everywhere. I think Sony and MS have done their research and planned on the results. Times are changing.

Now this I believe. I think that HDTVs are coming into homes more rapidly than anyone has ever seen.

I understand Sony is looking out for the future with the PS3 but they're forcing these features down ppls throats and charging top dollar for them. These console wont last past 5 years so they could of at least waited till HDTVs were in a higher percentage of homes. Right now, 600 bucks for features that many cant utilize to its fullest potential is a waste of money.

Yeah, I would too. Once Sony publicly announces it, I'm sure we'll get an answer on the intent of price.

I'm sorry, 5 yrs wont happen. Not unless there is a massive drop in price. I'm middle class but I know a ton of people who are upper, middle and lower class. How many of those people have HDTV's? Two including me. My point is most people will say my TV still works so why should I buy one for over a grand. Until the prices drop, HDTV's are for the upper class and tech and gaming nerds.

Also, the biggest sales for most consoles happen during the year after launch and I dont see that 15% growing to 50% in a year.

Ha, from the looks of it, its only 2 of you who are excited about the extra features. I came to my conclusion because 90% of the ppl in this thread said they dont give a crap about it. I said that in my last post, you must of missed it.

I don't believe most people who post here are in the upper class, but happen to own an HDTV. Why? Because they're football games look better on an HDTV. That is just one of many examples. If somebody sees an HDTV doing something more for them, and if they want it bad enough, they will buy one.

Oh yea, btw, what makes you think the PS3 or the 360 will go past 5 years. Heck, by then, Sony, MS or even Nintendo will be pimping some new 3D technology. Sony will introduce its newest format, Max-Beta DVDR-TVHD. The disc will be as small as glitter.

I own 2 HDTV's, how many other friends do I know that own them...zippo. I'm middle class as well. Only 60% of the country has Cable or Satellite, you think that many are also going to have HDTV as well? you're dreaming.
