Don't worry, Sony is not going the 2 sku route. It wouldn't make any sense for them to. There will be one version of the PS3 at launch, and it will be competively priced against it's competition.

Oh, and Sony already criticized Microsoft for going the 2 sku route. They aren't going to do it. There is no way they make one system with blu-ray and one without. Sony is trying to establish blu-ray, so making a seperate console that doesn't support it wouldn't make sense at all.

I can't see them offering two sku's one with blu-ray or one with out but if they are going to have the HD, i can see them going with the microsoft route.

The hard drive is listed as detachable, so most likely will be sold seperately. Sony has been near mum on the HD so far. The HD is also suppose to contain Linux, which would make the PS3 a fully-functioning PC.

I dont think the launch games or many of the titles in its first year will use blue-ray. Also, wait for the Kobe Bryant to be in a chicago bulls uniform in 2010.

Sony hasn't stated their purposes yet, fishepa (everything in the PS3 will have a purpose, chill).

Piracy isn't just Sony's problem, it's the industries problem. Remember mod chips for the Xbox? People dling music illegally, etc.

I disagree. I believe blu-ray will be used right from the get-go. When it will be used to it's maximum capacity is anyone's guess. We don't know.
