If the HD-DVD drive costs $150 or less then Sony will look even worse. But i'm guessing these are just random rumors without much credibility behind them.

So, for those hardcore gamers who definitely was waiting for MGS4 and don't have the money for the higher SKU, SOL!! That fumble by M$ was a killer too. If only companies would step up and just make the best decision for the industry.......

No I'm just trying to bring balance to you guys, you have lost your way. Its a game site, and it has become a brand site period. I'm not searching for sales. It is true, that I am in anticipation of the PS3 more than the X360, simply because of its feature set and its future capabilities. I am PS3 ready, I have a PSP, I have a 67 inch Samsung DLP with 2 HDMI's. I can afford to buy a PS3 with blu-ray, and with that purchase have a game machine. And, if it fails blu-ray that is, I can easily purchase a HD-DVD with no problem. I'm forward and looking "FORWARD" to tommorow, you chose a system thats is today and yesterday.

I will be at E3, with my PS3 bells on.

No, unlike you, we are actually waiting for more info. on the PS3 before making any further decisions. Making decisions based on "potential" 2 or 3 years from now just screams fanboy-ism. Personally, if the ps3 brings enough to the table and improves upon the xbox360 but with a fair cost then I will buy. I'm always looking forward to new features advancing games further. What's so hard about buying a system that brings alot to the table now and worrying about the next system in line later if you have the money? I'm sure you'll have enough money down the road to buy a ps3 if you really want one.

ready for that huge pre-rendered presentation again huh. I'll be more impressed if we see actually gameplay footage. I'm PS3 ready too, however, all the blue-ray crap does nothing for gaming weenie. That said, i'll be putting in my PS3 pre-order shortly after E3 if they "SHOW" that PS3 will be all it's being hyped to be. Enough of the talk from the Sony guys. They need to show some substance. i'm not up on all the technical ****. show me what the thing can do.

I think the point was made, how many people have the setup he does? Blu-ray means nothing to me, I don't currently have a HDtv, and probably won't for a year or so. I consider myself pretty tech savvy, I'd go as far as to say the majority of the PS3 audience won't be able to use this add on for a year or two, and with consoles getting so expensive I'd personally rather not spend 100+ bucks on something I don't need for as while

I'm not against innovation, but it seems Sony's forcing an expensive Blu-Ray on us with PS3 to be self-serving...otherwise would blu-ray really catch on that much?

And there, in a nutshell, is the crux of the discussion.
Sony needs Blu-Ray to catch on - desperately. And since the PS3 is a kind of Trojan Horse, it'll work very well indeed.

I'd hoping to see it, even if it would be an admission by Sony that they completely missed the boat for the last three years.

However, I trust the Official PlayStation Magazine's propaganda about as seriously as I trust the Official Xbox Magazine's... which is to say, not very much.

Trust me, if and when Sony has something substantial, you'll see Ken Kutaragi pop up and explain to you why it's the single-greatest creation in the history or mankind...

Tell me about it. All I hear is specs. I'm tryna firgure out if ppl want a PS3 because of the games or because of the sophisticated set of features it will have.

Like someone said earlier, in the end, its all about the games.

You know good and well Little Johnny's mom wont be buying a PS3 or an Xbox360 because of a core processor or the cell.

People not looming on message boards will take the games into consideration, just like some people wont buy an xbox360 right now because of the lack of games at the present time.
