If you are willing to pay 10K for a TV, which is more than a lot of automobiles, and still accept that you might have burn in, then so be it.
The day I pay that much for a TV, is the day I'm playing point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers. (AKA Never)Comment

There currently are TV's that are 1080p capable...they just can't take in a native 1080p source. The 1080p TV's today just deinterlace the 1080i signal, real 1080p TV's probably won't start showing up in stores until summer, when they roll out the new models premiered a couple weeks back at the CES.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

That's because, as mentioned - there's nothing that puts it out there yet. The PS3 may be the first device to market that does.
That's why the $1000 or more premium for a 1080p set may not be worth it.

1. According to an EB/Gamestop fax:
Non-blueray $399
Blue-ray $599
The non-blueray will still have the drive, but I don't like the two SKU plan regardless. If they had to charge $600 with everything then I guess it had to be done.
2. PSM claims PS3 online will not be a slouch and will be merged with the PSP somehow. This is going back and forth so take this especially with a grain of salt. However seeing Sony has a network planned for the PSP 3.0 update it would make sense they would have something at least of that calibur for PS3.
3. An EA job posting taken down implies the system will be released Christmas season. Since EA primarly is American it still doesn't rule out Japan spring launch.Comment
