Re: IGN says PS3 might break you
It's an educated guess based on everything that has been said, not just for the PS3 itself, but also with the copyright restrictions on Blu-ray playback. It isn't impossible for them to allow HD playback over components, but I doubt it will happen. The studios are too far up the manufacturers' arses. I guess we'll just see. I have bought electronics equipment before that came with HDMI cables as a pack-in.Originally posted by burnwoodWishful thinking. HDMI cables cost about $40 a pop. We don't know much about what the PS3 will come with in the box and what it will and will not allow us to do.Comment

Re: IGN says PS3 might break you
To take advantage of what you posted, the 32:9 display, you would need 2 TV's. Maybe you should remember what you posted.Originally posted by APOC2? That made no sense, Mr. Moderator!

Not Sony products though. You would think on their upconversion, even the ES series they would include them, but they don't.Originally posted by SportsorDeathIt's an educated guess based on everything that has been said, not just for the PS3 itself, but also with the copyright restrictions on Blu-ray playback. Exactly, which is why I asked how that would be useful.Originally posted by ExtremeGamerTo take advantage of what you posted, the 32:9 display, you would need 2 TV's. Maybe you should remember what you posted.Comment

Considering a 1080p TV is useless right now, I have no clue.Originally posted by fishepaExactly, which is why I asked how that would be useful.Comment

Re: IGN says PS3 might break you
I don't really think 360 owners have to be worried about when games are coming out.
I'm perfectly content with CoD2 and NBA right now, with FN coming out soon, and then the release of GRAW, Saints Row and all those this spring it'll keep me busy.Comment

Re: IGN says PS3 might break you
I was saying that more tongue in cheek. Instead of information about putting 2 1080p TV's together, I would like to see more info on games. I don't care about all the other fluff.Originally posted by APOCLast time I checked, the PS3 was made by Sony.

Re: IGN says PS3 might break you
Yep, This is not a bash or anything. But a 1080P TV is useless. Only thing that can be viewed on it is Blu Ray or HD-DVD. No TV studios are broadcasting in 1080p, and probably won't for a long, long time. Most of them spent a fortune in upgrading to 720p or 1080i cameras.Originally posted by APOCBut useless when the PS3 launches? There will be TV's within the next 24 months that will be 1080p capable.Comment

Re: IGN says PS3 might break you
Yeah It is so great, come everyone out there, go out and do yourself a favor and buy a spanking new HDTV with 1080p, "No don't give me that you can't aford it, just go buy one". PLease it doesn't matter what other bill's you have to pay, just get the TV so you could play the PS3. "Oh wait you may be paying a lot for the PS3 alone, what the hell go out. Please man everyone isn't rich like that.Originally posted by APOCYep, it's great, ain't it. It will be useful to those of us who will have a TV that can take advantage of 1080p and HDMI, only with the newer HDTVs coming out soon that will support it of course. But that shouldn't be a problem because this is new technology, and people like to buy new technology. C'mon, it's pretty self-explanatory.
My point is not many TV's are 1080p, yes it's the new thing right now. The truth is people just don't have the money to buy an new HDTV, or a TV with HDMI hookup wich only come with HDTV's. I mean Sony shouldn't only worry about the future, they should worry more about today too, even though some HDTV's are aforable, but not the hdtv's with the Standard 1080p format.
APOC do you have an HDTV? If so does it have an HDMI hookup or is it 1080p, if not are you going to buy and new TV just for the PS3?N.Y Mets

Re: IGN says PS3 might break you
It is a short amount of time to the industry. This is all new technology, things take time to expand. DVD wasn't hot off the iron when it first released. That took time to get into homes. Besides, it's not like there will be another next-next-gen console from Sony or MS in the next 5 years anyway. Not with what they say these machines are capable of. I think both companies will let these systems grow and utilize their full potentials.Originally posted by Longhorn6You say 24 months like it's a short amount of time...Comment
