Graphik, what class of character did you create? I usually do warrior types, but I'm ready to switch up to a stealthy theif. Should be more fun, gameplay wise.
I made this custom class where my majors are Heavy Armor, Marksman, Destruction, Illusion, Blunt Weapons, Restoration and something else. I wanted a nice mix of magic and weaponry. I'm used to being a powerfull warrior myself. I'm always missing out on the magic.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

I thought the animation was jerky. You would be running, then let go and it immediatly stopped, no slowing down, or anything. The fighting animation was weak as well.
Maybe I was expecting too much of it, like it did with the final fantasy series. Im not by any means an rpg guy, i like action and sports, but i think i may try this one out if someone who didnt like morrowind finds it appealing. You know what, I think my memory stems from the PC version, now that I think about it.
The PC version was QUITE impressive. Not sure about the xbox version, though I could see how it could have been subpar.
Originally posted by forensicdI thought they were terrible, textures were horrendous on xbox, especially on the charcter. I didnt play it unitl last year, so I was used to the graphics of the newer xbox titles I suppose, such as splinter cell, etc.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Impressions Thread
I'm impressed so far,all I've done is create my character,Redguard with cornrows, btw character customization is realy deep.I could see how it would take someone 30 to 45 minutes just to create the right look for they're character. Also if you look at your friends list and someone is playing Oblivion ,it'll tell you what level they are and how much life they have left.(ex. Lvl: 1 Life:65/100).Well off to play fora few hours hope everyone enjoys the game.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Impressions Thread
i love how they make skills something you'd actually want to use, especially the stealth ones. Lockpicking, you actually control it rather than just seeing a message that you succeed or fail. Sneaking is much better as well. Unfortunately this is making it much harder for me to create my character. I'm trying to make a fighter/marksman but am having trouble finding the right combo of combat and stealth skills.
EDIT - I suggest anyone creating a character actually read the manual to see the bonuses you get from increasing a skill. For example a Blade master has more attacks available, a Heavy Armor master doesn't get encumbered when wearing it, etc.Last edited by Stu; 03-21-2006, 03:18 PM.Comment
