I don't like RPGs for the most part.

I do however like Morrowind and Fable, mainly because there's a lot more action. Action that you physically control. You'll get used to classes and armor, and such.

I'm still VERY MUCH a sports gamer. I just got tired of sports 24/7 and these games offered a different expierence. One that's not totaly turn based RPG with a heavy empahsis on Story, but more so, some story, but a nice emhpasis on exploring, fighting, and upping your characters ability.

This game is very much worth giving a shot too.

You also have the ablility once you aquire it to turn invisible foe 30 seconds during a 1 day period. I'll have to check my items letter today and see if that's right.
I believe you only get that ability with one of the birthsigns. I don't know if this has been mentioned or not...but...this game also has an INCREDIBLE character customization system. I don't remember any single player RPG that let you customize the way you look like Oblivion.

Also Stealth Attacks cause a "Critical Hit". So there's even more benefit to been "stealthy"

Other than the things some of the others have mentioned, i have to say the game is as good as i thought it would be. Just like morrowind, this game will be one of the few I will pick up and play for years. That said, one thing did irk me. This only affects pc users with sli setup. The game does not support sli just yet(hopefully in the upcoming nvidia patch). I had my rig set up with both 7800 gtx's and the game kept crapping out. I turned off the sli mode and played with no problems after that.

As for the darkness thing, i love it. The fact that you have to use a torch brings memories of some of the rpg's from the 80's. You dont got a light? you aint seeing nothing

Unfortunately, i wasnt able to play as long as i had hoped last night( errands and such). But i am definitely gonna be all over it tonight. Anyone who is even remotely interested in rpg's must pick this game up.

I've noticed this as well. I've only done a couple quests, but have noticed they're much longer than quests in Morrowind. I don't want to give any spoilers, but as an example a fighters guild quest involved some rats in a basement but it was nowhere near as easy and short as the similar quest from Morrowind.

Also, I mentioned this before, but I love how they implemented the skill levels. So when you advance Marksman for example, you get the ability to zoom in, etc. It's much more rewarding to level your skills.

Dito that. I have a bunch of games for my 360 but I always find myself playing sports games over anything else. Not last night. This game is so damn fun. I was only able to escape from the sewers last night. The rest of the time I was just drooling at the graphics.

EG you should get it. I thought I would hate this game cause it's an RPG and wouldn't get into it. I was playing till 3:30am ha so much for that.

Just give up. This game is so good, I'm dropping $300 today to upgrade my PC just so I can turn more of the details on. Granted, I was going to upgrade my PC regardless, but still. Oblivion rules

I really enjoyed Oblivion last night although I have no idea what i'm doing. I'm sitting here at work wishing that I could play NOW! Breaking out of the Imperial Prison and going through the sewer and into the open world is an experience in itself!!! Not really into RPG's but this game is awesome. I've already gotten caught stealing by accident and done hard time in prison.

This is coming from someone who never bought an XBOX game (besides sports games) that i ever really liked. in fact, i never really cared for RPG's either.

I can say this. Before i got out of the sewers on Oblivion, i said to myself that this might be one of the most interesting, well done games i have ever played.

The attention to detail is outstanding and it is a very rewarding experience.

The class creation and character creation is ridiculously detailed. The graphics on the 360 are easily on par with my PC. It is so nice to play a game on my plasma TV with Dolby 5.1 and feel like it could compete with my PC.

If you are on the fence, get this game ASAP. One of the better i have ever played.
