It dispels (gets rid of) any negative effects currently on you (displayed in the top-right corner of the screen) caused by magic.

I'm going to ask you a question and ask you to please NOT spoil the ending for me. However I would like to know one thing. At the beginning of the game Emperor Septim says that you will make a great choice or something to that effect if I remember correctly. My question is, do you really get to make a choice or do you just unfold the plot/story. Again, please don't spoil anything for me just answer, either yes you get to make a choice or no you just follow the story.

        Thanks.

As far as I know there is only one possible ending to the main quest if that is what you mean. There are a few minor variation in what you can do along the way but the ending doesn't change. Either you finish the quest or you don't.

O.k. I am a wood elf and I thought that if you were either a wood elf or a high elf you could not get diseases. Well, I noticed some of my attributes were in red, endurance, agility, and speed I think. I checked the page that shows you if you have contracted diseases and it said one, but I did not know what it was. How do you find out what kind of disease you have?

Check your magical effects. I believe its the furthest tab on the right when you are in your magic inventory windows. There you can see whats affecting you good and bad.

How do you get your fame up? I currently have a 1 for fame, I don't know how I got it or how to increase it. I thought I read somewhere where your fame has to be higher for certain quests.

Just continue to do missions and quest. If you do any quest for the thieves guild or the dark brotherhood, you're infamy will go up instead.

Oh, ok. I was'nt sure exactly how to go about that, because I want to do the vampire hunter quest but I read that you have to have a fame of 5. Thanks Graphic.

I'm pretty sure that's the haunted one. Go sleep in the house and the quest will begin.

for damage magika, ur gonna have to buy one from one of the mage guilds, i didnt have one either,

that stuff you listed is all useless, but mostly fo giving the game some life. in one of the quests you have to get someone some glass cups/pitchers, so theres some minimal uses for them.

There is one ultimate lockpick, you get it from one of the daedric shrines, called nocturnal.
