Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
I'd recommend for a player new to game to look at the oblivion wiki. I just picked up the game a couple weeks ago, and the wiki really provides a lot of useful information.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
yeah the game can be a little daunting at first especially since there is so much to do. With quests I just line up the red arrow in the center of the compass bar at the bottom and go towards that. And once your in the right area, cave, or whatever the arrow turns green to let you know. On a few quests there is no arrow as you have to investigate an area or what not to find what you are looking for.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
I've got the hang of the game, but I'm just wondering where do I get new spells? I've read you can custom make some, but I have yet to get all of my recommendations from the guild. Is it very self explanatory to make my own spell?Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
After closing a few gates for the main quest, my character was a badass at the Sneak and Acrobat skill. So after using a spell for invisibility as well as my sneak skill I was able to sneak past most of the creatures and jumped around to the top for the rest of the gates. Made the game feel like Splinter Cell.
Sometimes its inevitable for enemies to spot you while in those towers. Good thing for my light armored, fast character, I'd just run....***n without turning back. Blaze past every enemy till I reached the top. Once I get to that familiar room with the stone or rune thingy(its been a while), run up the ramps and go straight for it. Grab it, everything dies and you're back in paradise.
Good gawd, I hated those Oblivion gates. I had to find the quickest way possible to get though them all.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Its pretty simple. Once you get all the reccomendations, the gates for the magic guild in Imperial City will open up for you. Head into one of the rooms and it should be a Spell making podium and a enchantment podium.
As of now, the only way for you to get spells is in each cities magic guild there should be someone who sells spells. Sometimes you gotta catch them awake to buy anything.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Or you can experiment with a mortar & pestle, or whatever they're called, and the other ingredients of course. But yeah, get into the mages guild and the spell making & enchantment podiums are great.
And I too did the run for the stone. That's what you have to do. They were all the same. WAY too boring to do numerous times. The first one was kind of cool.. but after closing it, the next one was the same ol'.Twitter - WTF_OS

I had a sneaker/thief that I loved, but I stopped playing because of exams and never got back into the game until this past spring with my knight.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Honestly, I think the most progress I made in this game was going to Kvatch. Wasted so much time with the guilds and going from place to place that I never progressed the game.
I don't have memorie of being blown away by things in the game, but I was always wasting time on it doing the next thing be it dungeon, quest, or walking around.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
You dont know what you're missing with the Brotherhood. Some of the best quest in the game. There are stipulations with some of the quest that require you to do the deed at a certain time, location or situations to make it look like an accident. Or else lose out on XP and/or loot.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are the two best storylines in the game IMO (all the guild lines are better than the main story IMO though). I'd definitely give DB a play through.Comment
