How did you pull this quest off? I got to the dock and it does nothing. Do I need to have water breathing?

I tried that and I still can't get the blademaster to give me the next fight and the arena is still empty. I searched the Oblivion forums and this seems to be an issue without a fix currently (a few people reported it there, too). I'm playing the 360 version, so I can't get into the file settings either. It might have something to do with the fact that I was disqualified for not wearing the Battle Raiment in my first match. That's what I get for not paying attention to the fight instructions. Oh well, there are a million other things for me to do in the game, so it's not too big of a deal.

I like the arrows. I don't like the idea of wandering around forever looking for things. Actually I really don't have time for that either.

Well I had what I consider a game killer today. I was doing the main quest, and went to the Dagon shrine. I refused to give up my gear, so I was forced to kill every person I saw. I found the prisoner, got the quest update (take such and such to the Cloud Ruler Temple) and when I left, the map arrow led me to a rock wall that wouldn't move. I tried another door after viewing the map and I couldn't get the door open. I had the Dagon Shrine key and the storeroom key, and neither would open the door. I also found a metal gate that wouldn't open, and only found one switch. I ran around the caves for an hour, checking and rechecking every dead body, wearing the red robe (maybe that's why the door wouldn't open), and trying every door again and again. The entire shrine is DEAD, the prisoner is DEAD, and STILL I couldn't get out. I'm ****ing pissed off, had to reset my game, and seriously am about to chuck the damn thing out the door. If this is the **** I have to put up with, this game isn't for me. I've invested too much time as it is (did all the Arena, Dark Brotherhood, and have put in over 200+ game days and far too many hours). What the ****!

I didn't have water breathing. I just swam around, following the arrows, and killed them all. Most fish were on the surface, and you can hold your breath long enough to get the ones underwater.

I actually found enough scales on some goblins I ran into and killed. I forgot to go back to that guy though...so I don't know if he will take those.

They have to be a specific type of scales, so I doubt he takes them. That quest is a pain but the reward is worth it IMO.

Just hop in and your guy will start swimming. Move up and down to dive down or surface. There's also a breath meter. When it gets to 0, you'll start dying.

AMEN. That quest reward is very worth it, As long as your race isn't argonian.

Well what's the path? The only switch I saw dropped some gate (that I couldn't see). I switched it, went to the rock wall, went back, switched it again, back to the rock wall...and it still wouldn't move.

If I go through and let the dude take my gear, will I be able to get out then? Is there some fool proof way to get in and out without having to experience that hell again!?

You must be missing a switch. I did that thing the same way you did. I went in arrow's flying. Killed everyone and the prisoner ended up dying to someone. There was a switch that lowered that rock wall, I just can't remember where at the moment. When I get home I will see if I can't find it. I have a same somewhere around there still I think.

I absolutely love this game. Last night I started over (I was only just past getting out of the sewers) as a thief character. I went in this one place right outside the sewers where a bunch of bandits are. Playing as a thief in this game is ultra cool. I spent probably an hour in that place just sneaking around. Shot some guy with an arrow and he went flying over the railing. It feels almost like Splinter Cell or the old game "Thief." Extremely immersive. And I chose Kahjitt. Night Eye definitely helps in some places. Again, great game.

On another note, what's the secret to leveling? I think I just got a level up message, but all I've been doing is raising my sneak, blade, and light armor ratings. I don't remember any other messages, except maybe one restoration raise. After you get the level up message should you work on any other skills before you sleep? Any help would be appreciated.
