If I go through and let the dude take my gear, will I be able to get out then? Is there some fool proof way to get in and out without having to experience that hell again!?

If u get to the room where the book of xarxes is... And u take it, the path u came from is blocked by a gate... BUT, there's another path that isn't blocked by a gate... Follow that path and it'll lead to a room with a huge rock in the way.. There's a switch in that room u press to move the rock, then u continue following the path and you'll come thru another gate (that was closed when u first get there) but is open now, go thru and you'll find the exit back out of the caves and to the forest.

Hope that helped... (I gave up my gear, listened to the speech, then took a silver dagger from off the alter and murdered the guy whº took my stuff and got all my stuff back and murdered my way out of there thru the route I explained up there)

Get over them if you can, and drop them in. If they miss, use the Left Bumper button to grab an item in realtime and use the left/right sticks to place it.

Yeah, you can also drag dead bodies around by their limbs... it's fun to pile up about 20-30 townsfolk, and shoot a fire ball at them, and watch them fly about 20 feet into the air. Ah... good times.

Ever since baldur's gate and icewind dale, I just enjoy playing a warhammer swinging holy warrior for some reason. and it seems In Oblivion good aligned role played characters get screwed.

After playing through the main quest and fighter's guild as a paladin, I'm now going through the DB as an evil elf and the DB quests are so much better than the fighter's guild. The rewards, the variety, and the fun factor blow away the fg.

That's probably the one thing I miss from morrowind, the large amount of guilds and family factions you could join. Oblivion is in great need of more joinable guilds like the imperial cult or legion from morrowind for video game do-gooders.

Family factions and new guilds to join in an expansion pack to Oblivion for the fight for throne would be great.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion

Kinda made because i unplugged my 360 to move some stuff around the room and i went to Oblivion earlier and half my saves are gone and the last one is one of my real earlier saves and even my autosave is old. So i decided to start over for the 2nd time.

I finally picked this one up (and I have a feeling that I'll regret it after 200 plus hours ) I chose the Argonian race and a thief type background. Is that good to start with. I haven't done any of the quest stuff yet, just walked around in some fort right next to where you exit the prison, and some fort next to where you have to take the amulet. edited to add another question: Are the two pieces of downloadable content worth the price?

                    Weird thing happened.
I came out of a ruin North of Imperial City. I had the kid w/the torch waiting outside. I go to find him and there was an Imperial Legion Soldiers horse standing next to him without the soldier around.
I've been playing this game as a totally good character and my infamy and bounty are zero. I jump on the horse and the kid starts blabbing something like "well you do what you want...I won't stop you"...and I start riding.
The soldier shows up and starts chasing me. I go past another ruin and some bandits start following me. The soldier starts fighting them and I'm going to guess he died...because he's no longer around...I'm riding his horse and I've been passing other soldiers and they greet me with the "Hi good citizen". Infamy and bounty are still zero.
I forgot to check if it was raised before that soldier disappeared.
Does that get reset if the character you stole from dies?
                    Funny.

I don't know about that, but just don't let another Soldier see you get on that horse. They'll accuse you of stealing too.

Yeah. That's what happened. Another set of bandits attacked me and two soldiers showed up and kicked their ...you know... Well they were kind of just sitting around waiting their ...so I figured...good way to get loot....let the soldiers fight and I'll take the spoils!....well I got off the horse...checked the corpses and when I got back on the horse....they arrested me!
Good thing I saved before that!
                        Thanks.

Started a new guy last night after I realized I had gimped my first character due to never leveling up my minor skills. Not so sure about the leveling system in this game since it basically punishes people who are just learning to play the game and don't know to maximize their skill boosts when they level-up. Other than that I'm still loving it a month after purchase.
