Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
$30 is about 10 over what I would pay for any download ever. With the limited amoutn of space on the HD, and the price, I'll be forced to sit this out until it comes out in the "collector's" edition in a year or so.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
The only good thing about playing on the pc is that you can get these games and expansions for free.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

It looks like one giant Oblivion gate. If that's the case, I'll pass, as they were easily the worst part of the game.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Alright I realize that I may be one of the last human beings to have purchased this game and I am loving every second of it. It definitely lives up the the hype...that's for sure.
I am having a lot of trouble early on with the Main Quest. I feel completely embarassed asking for help as I have een relied on may web-based walkthoughs and even the Strategy Guide itself....so here goes....
I am trying to complete the Sheogorath Shrine Quest (which I felt was the easiest Shrine Quest to accomplish since I am only Level 3)
This quest takes me to Border Watch where I must be the catalyst for three "plague-type" events. The first of which is a rat infestation.....perhaps you Oblivion experts memories are now jarred.
The problem is I know where the Olroy Cheese is. I just can't pickpocket the innerkeep, S'thasa, to save my life. Furthermore my lockpicking skills are no better. If I try to do so automatically, I'll sun through as many as 20 lockpicks without success.
I tries to slay the meek innkeeper and consequently lift the key to the cheese case from her...but everytime I try this and then go to the boiling pot of water, I get the display message A - Activate the object, but nothing happens. I know the cheese is in my possession (as a stolen item). I have waited the obligatory hour and -- no rats. Is this because I administered the beat down on poor S'thasa? Must I do this w/o killing her?
If so, I assume I need to bolster my pickpocketing and/or lockpicking dramatically. Does a level 3 adventurer has a prayer with this quest?Congratulations BUTLER BULL DOGS!

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
As for Oblivion itself I just played it for the first time in a while and I remembered why I have to take breaks from it.
**********SOMEWHAT A SPOILER *********
I had left off at the part to get the amulet of kings, you have to get the 3 items and I had gotten one. The ending is great, very tough! With the 2 gates I thought you had to kill them all and even had to reload, then finally got inside for the ending cinematic. The oblivion gates were annoying but otherwise the main quest was a lot of fun.
Now looking forward to progressing with the dark brotherhood and getting rid of my characters vampirism. Will have to try Knights of the Nine soon too.
