I still need to finish the game though cause I borrowed it from a guy for like 3 months and I had to give it back to him and didn't get a chance to finish. I got through the Dark Brotherhood, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild and I was at the Gray Fox missions in the Thieves Guild. ON the main quest I was close to the end, I had to recruit the different towns for backup.
I didnt mind the gates for the fact that I knew where to go (it is revealed on the map with a red arrow, which I didn't know about it till I was well into the game) and you often find decent gold and gear while inside the Gates which was good for me cause I didn't do many side quests while I was doing the main quest.

I admit they did get boring but when having a large group fighting off the last Oblivion gate was pretty cool. Had some Braveheart to it.

Everyone owes it to themselves to play it. If you haven't I supremely highly recommend it.

There's a trailer on the marketplace but no actual expansion just yet.

73 hours to be exact

I finished all the guilds but have only closed two of the gates.

Come to think of it, i haven't really spent that much time doing Miscellaneous quests or any free exploring, pretty much all my time was spent doing guild-related quests.

At the avsforum a few seem to be saying they don't see any graphical differences after the update but thats only a few people.

                          Patch release info:

Looks like they did add some tweaks for the graphics. I'm just wondering if I should re-buy it now (had the itch to play it again) or wait and see if they'll have a new edition out when 'Shivering Isles' drops.

I haven't tried this game yet, since the local Movie Gallery doesn't have **** to rent. I was thinking about buying it, since I hear nothing but good things. Problem is, I have different opinions for different RPGs. I love Diablo 2, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and Fable, but I DO NOT like WoW and JRPGs like Final Fantasy. Would you recommend this to me?

This game is nothing like a JRPG. It's more of an action game play with computer RPG quest lines. Morrowind was basically a 3D D&D type game (not using D&D rules, but the same concept), and Oblivion is significantly less deep, but still far more interactive than JRPGs.

Oblivion is a must own (Not rent) if you like RPG's, period. One of the, if not the, best game as far as gameplay time.

This is my opinion of course.
