Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion
I'm thinking about getting a Wii. Tree hmain reasons:
1. I love the Mario and Zelda franchises
2. Cost (cheapest system, plus I don't have an HDTV)
3. Excited about the new style of controller
4. Access to the old library of games. Ok so it wasn't just 3, LOLLast edited by ESPNdeportes; 10-08-2006, 02:24 PM."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

I'm really excited about the new controller as well. Have you seen videos for all the different uses of it, looks fun. I like the Mario and Zelda stuff too. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm very intrigued by the Wii. I'll probably end up picking one up over my Winter Break."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

That kinda sucks, but realistically why would you be playing a videogame when the sun is shining directly on your TV? Most people would close the curtains, shade, whatever so they can actually see the game they're playing.Comment

Component cables to cost $60????? From Mad Katz of all companies (they are usually the ones with cheaper prices)
http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802520
The S-Video is $40. What the %$#@#????
So if I got the Wii with component (because I want the sharpest picture possible) and a classic controller I spend $330. That seems a bit much. I am surprised they didn't put either a classic controller or at least S-Video cables with the console.
As a side note Gamestop should have the Wii available for pre-order in the next three days or so. It's been posted in other forums and my local shop said it would be starting tomorrow.DON'T PANICComment

Red Steel shaping up nicely according to Nintendo Mag...
Controls have been vastly improved, due to three aspects. Final build Wiimote, refined sensor bar (most likely the one we saw last week at the Nintendo World Store), and Ubisoft’s time spent tweaking the game.
Gesture towards defeated enemies to tell them where to go.
Some aspects of the game are still a secret.
Graphics are simply amazing. Forget everything you have seen from all the Red Steel videos up until now. Unbelievably smooth character animations, night time dojo level is gorgeous, rain and lighting storm is very well done, compared to RE4’s village area, but more impressive.
One portion of the game has you escaping a burning dojo that features ” the best fire effects we’ve ever seen”.
Version of the game played was 16:9 widescreen 480p at 60 frames per second.Comment

Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion
Will all games utilize the nun-chuk controller or just first-party games?
Depending on how much money I'll have around Christmas, I may pick the Wii up. It looks like a lot of fun and I've been looking forward to Zelda since it was announced.

WOW! I hate to say this, but I'm a bit impressed with the controller even though I've been against it since it was announced. This is turning out more than an advanced XBOX 1 with a gimmick controller. I'm not 100% sold yet, but Zelda, GC BC, and the retro downloads are calling my name + my friend DXZeke keeps on trying to persuade me into buying one.Comment
