    HELP! My 360 just died... what can I do?

    Well... my 360 just died on me. 3 red rings and freezes. I've done all the power reboots....removed the HD.... and nothing works. I didn't purchase any kind of extended warranty. Am I SOL? If so, I think that's it for my NEXTGEN experience for a while. Will XBOX still accept my 360 to fix, repair or replace? Anyone who's gone throught this, please give me some tips or advise.

    I don't want to pay for repairs after I've spend $400 plus already. Any suggestions.

    Damn.... I was so looking forward to NCAA on the 360 to.

      Call MS, They'll send you out a box to repair it, you should have a new 360 within 2 weeks.

          Man.... I'm on hold with MS now (so far about 15-20 min) waiting for a supervisor. The CSR said there was nothing he could do because I don't have the extended warranty. He said it will cost me about $150 for repair. I'm getting pissed. Why the hell is their warranty only 90 days. What a crock.. It should at least be 1 year. Damn, that freakin' warranty thing came to bite me in the ***. This is a crock of S***!

          Come on MS... you need to take care of your customers! I'll let you all know my results.

            Be lucky, some manufaturer's warranties are only 30 days. Sell it on ebay as broken, there are people that buy broken systems and see if you could get about $200+ for it.

            Take the money and buy another one with a warranty this time.

              Thanks for the advice. It look like I'm SOL. No help from the supervisor. He just gave me the same company line of "I'm sorry to hear about your problem. Unfortunately since your system is out of warranty, if you want to send it in for repairs it will be about $129. Then you can purchase the extended warranty which is a great value at about $25 per year." <b>DAMN YOU XBOX!!!!</b> How about taking care of your customers.... Especially since your freakin' putting out a defective product! What kind of s*** is that! I know it's been said but it is so true "Your F'n console is a piece of crap paper weight now."

                  To be honest, wouldnt that be a better offer?

                  $129 + $25 = $154 fixed w/ warranty

                  OR

                  $299 brand new (cheaper if used) 360.

                  I mean, its up to you but the offer still cant be beat.

                    Of course the $154 deal is better... IF I plan to get another 360. I'm just very upset with the way MS is handling the DEFECTS. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE... and a crappy way to back your PRODUCT!

                      NXT, I swear MS extended their extended warranty. I had a broke 360 and was out of warranty but they gladly took it back. My advice? Call back monday and see if you talk to someone else...Dont take this **** from them.

                        take your 360 in its box back to a walmart. tell them its defective and you got it as a gift for your b-day. if they have them in stock they should replace it with no questions asked. all they do is copy your drivers license and you will be off with a new 360. they copy the license b/c u didnt have a reciept.

                          wouldnt walmart scan the serial code to see if it was even sold there at that time?

                            walmart doesn't scan the serial code on Microsoft products. Only with Sony and Nintendo. It should work out for him.

                              I just read a post on XBOX forums and another guy said MS extended the warranty to 6 months... Of course I didn't hear of this before hand and when I spoke with the CSR and his manager, they both failed to mention it. So I doubt it is true... If someone can prove me wrong, please do.
