Ugh, same here, man. I've got a $15 gift card burning a hole in my pocket. I'm trying to wait until COD4, before making a decision between that or Orange Box. I don't want to buy both right away, since I'm still playing Halo 3 and NBA 2K8, and will be buying Mass Effect. Not enough time to play everthing. Hmmmm......

For those who already have it can you please comment on the graphics (I am confident the gameplay/story is solid)? Just wondering if the eye-candy is still comparable to games like Bioshock, Gears of War and even Halo 3 I guess.

In addition, in the back of my mind I have been wondering about getting this for the PC instead of the Xbox 360. Can folks comment on the control scheme? Any issues mates? And getting back to the visuals, especially for any who did play HL2 on the PC, can you comment on any differences between the console and PC?

I'll pick this up for 30 bucks or whatever next summer when no games are out. I've got Halo sitting at home that I haven't played all that much of...sounds like a fun game though.

Can only speak about the pc version. still deciding if i am gonna be stupid and pick up the 360 version.

Graphics look fabulous on the pc with all eye candy turned on. This is for hl3 and episodes, portal, and tf2.

My only fear is that tf2 will get lost in the crowd on live. As far as on the pc, it will be a mainstay for years.

i have always preferred the mouse and keyboard combo over a controller, but i am sure it plays just as well with a controller.

Heelfan can you elaborate? I am really looking forward to getting this and am looking forward to impressions.

I have never played the series before now so......... But the game is really fun. It's a great FPS game. I will be playing this instead of Halo. Not a big halo fan for some reason. Controls are very easy to get used too. Only have a crowbar and a gun so far so I don't know how many weapons there are. THere is lots of walking around and figuring stuff out for your self as far as where you need to go etc.

I wish I could play some more this afternoon, but I don't want to play it in front of my son. Lots of blood.

Half life's story is arguably more epic and is just a better overall experience. This goes for both the original game and part 2. Halo3 sp i never really get what i am doing or why i am doing it in the single player campaign; i end up just moving from point to point shooting, killing and then moving on. half life does this as well, but the story pulls you in more so you dont notice this nearly as much. YMMV however, as i am sure there are people who will argue the opposite.

I read the halo novels and enjoyed those alot.

Thanks. Yeah, I love the Halo campaign more for the gameplay than the story. Sounds like HL2 combines great gameplay and a compelling story. I may crack, soon.
