Re: Fable 2
anyone hear/experience a huge bug in the game that basically makes the game unplayable?
When you go to Oakdale and talk to the abbot, if you try to leave before he finishes talking, apparently you cannot continue the quest and the game thusly cannot be moved forward at all...
anyone else hear that? I'm actually experiencing it right now..played about 2-3 more hours and i can't talk to him again, nor can i do anything outside of walk around the same town or wonder aimlessly. Browerstone is closed until this quest is over and i cant even finish the quest..
ugh
You do have to get your renown up in that area before he'll speak to you again. Best way to get your renown up is to show your trophies, and do quests.Comment

Re: Fable 2
Enjoying the game quite a bit - but two things bugs me.
1.) The travel screen that comes up when you approach an area. Instead of entering a city, or traveling from city to city and seeing everything between - you hit a point where it just says on the screen "City Name, Miles Away, Hours on Foot", and then basically loads you to a new area. It makes the world feel very small.
2.) It's extremely linear. Yes, you can go off the path - but onto other predetermined paths. It's not an open world at all - you can't just go off the path and travel through all your surroundings, and you can only get to a place via a specific path. When you go off the path, there are invisible walls, and because there's no jump - they just make rocks and slopes that you can't get over. Again, it makes the area feel less like an open world - and more like a small region.
Other than those two things - it's quite fun. I'm enjoying the magic aspect quite a bit. I just feel like the world is very small, and it feels very linear to me; I was kind of expecting a larger world, and I thought they said it was going to be very open where you could explore lots.Comment

My guy has two kids by two different women in two different towns.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Fable 2
as it is now, the only way my character now can advance is if they put out a patch. I cannot go anywhere, have no quests to work on even though it's telling me to do that one, no one responds to re-activate it or anything...

Re: Fable 2
i read over on some of the other boards that it is in fact a bug, so for anyone who gets to that quest (it occurs very early), do not skip the entire scene or walk away at all because it potentially can ruin your whole game.

Re: Fable 2
I'm getting into buying real estate (currently have 1 wife and a kid in 1 house, the rest I'm buying is shops to get the regular income). I'm awesome at chopping wood, though I've got to come up with a way to make even better money to buy the more expensive places.
It's crazy how you can get pulled away by these other things and not even sniff the main quest for half the night. The dyes are pretty cool, I made my Noble Jacket look a lot cooler (to my tastes) with a grayish dye.
Hint for those having trouble making whoopie with the missus (maybe a minor spoiler, putting it in that just in case)
SpoilerAt the Bowerstone bookstore randomly there's a "Come Hither" book that gives you the "Come to my place" flirt expression...makes getting a spouse (or loose woman) into bed a lot easierNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Fable 2
Good times again with this. Kept running into Chubby and Candyman throughout the night. Played some coop with a friend. Gotta admit its an awesome time. Lets you choose how much of a percent you want to give to your buddy for gold and XP. Camera is a little odd, but LB is your friend and will set the camera behind your back to make it easier to see.
This type of game usually isn't really my thing, but I've gotten in 12 hours since Tuesday at midnight.I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.
